Casper and Reclaimer appreciation thread

I knew that in the midst of all the "PWND!!!1!!" threads and " WE ARE TEH WIN 1!!" threads, that the mods that even pulled this together would be ridiculed and underminded, as if we finally gained some self rightous revenge on general authority.

These guys are our friends too, poeple, and you can see how hard it is to get 24 people, and make them all cooperate, using no means of communication outside of a forum.

And for what? to get schooled by the underappreciative.

Well you know what? can anyone honestly say that this event wasnt damn fun?

It F*king was, and i wanna thank Casper and Recalimer -XBA, for making this possible.

Good stuff, Covie. Way to smooch the bootie. ;) Really, though, while it may seem like it's all gravy being on Staff, I can speak for many when I say it's not easy. You have to regulate your friends, as well as those you can't stand, all the while trying to be civil and courteous across the board. The simple fact these guys go out of their way to organize these kinds of events speaks volumes about their character. It's all about having fun w/ your fellow members.

So, big ups to all the staff. You guys do a bang up job, and are a riot to hang with. I believe if we all lived in the same town, we'd be a regular wrecking crew. I'm nearing the two-year mark here at XBA, and while I've browsed other forums, I find the friends I've made here keep bringing me back. You guys rock, both staff and members. Cookies for everyone!!!!

One quick gripe, though, before I go. Why no Graphics competition this year??? :huh:

Yes thank you mods for giving me a platform to show just how ****ing dominant i am, even not in my prime since having stayed a way from the game for a week or so. I really do look at myself like an Ali figure to you all. Giving the younger kids inspiration to be like me. Its ok casper, you hang in there big guy. You will once again find a game you can play and be good at............... Nah seriously good job guys, was damn fun and would love to do it again.

I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words up there. I'm glad you enjoyed the event. I tried to get this to happen along time ago.. the game was going to be Crimson Skies, believe it or not. Then I decided on other games, but I just couldn't get it all together enough.

I decided to push it for Halo 2 and it worked out better than I anticipated. A lot of the staff helped me out getting this to come to fruition so it's not just me and Casper.

Anyway, we are going to do it again. That first event was a prototype event for me. I laid it out and whatever didn't work I'd change for the next event. I'd like to thank Stephen for trusting me to get to work and leaving me to my own devices to make it happen.
So, it will happen again. I promise it will. Hang tight and we'll see what we can do.

BTW- Thrash... I've been at this site since my freshman year in highschool and I'm a senior this year; this place has been like an online home for me except for the 8 or so months when all we had were spamming wiggers (I know some people don't like this word, but that's the least offensive thing I can think of to describe them.) Just messin' - I was woken up by my job this morning and that's when I saw the post. Figured I'd put it instead of Thanks, as I thought it was perfect for my mood.

But yea, it was mostly on Claim's shoulders, I just provide support like everything else on XBA. I do it for the kids :cool:

appreciate reclaimer? yes. never played on a team with him, but from what i've seen him say here.. he likes to worry about the team first.. due to experience in the real world he likes to coordinate and follow directions as well.. something that is dearly needed in BTB

one thing i can't stand is when no one talks in Big Team Battle.. you're trying to tell people things but you get no ackowledgment.. then 5 minuts in of you trying to get the team organized and doing the right things.. someone says (usually a 10 year old) "DUDE SHUT UP NOBODY CARES!"

yeah, i agree. after playing with some of you on live a bit and hanging around these forums for a while i definitely get that sense of community that you all have here. you are all great guys and i'm glad that i stumbled onto this site.
