This just started happening to me today. I was playing a game of Halo 2 and then all of the sudden the blue screen appears saying restablishing connection and all that. So I just think it's someone else that is quitting, but when I return to the game everyone is gone, except me, and the game ends. Then I try to go into another match and it's saying my Xbox Live isn't plugged(which it is). So I go to my computer and make sure everything is working right and I notice on my modem that there is no activity. Then I unplugged my modem and plugged it back in and everything was working right again, but after about one match and during my second game the same thing happens. It shows that everyone in the game quit and tells me that my Live isn't plugged in...I go and look at my modem and there is no activity.

Can anyone please help me with this problem. It's happening all the time and is getting really annoying. So can you all please help. Please.

I'd contact your ISP and ask for help - or check out www.dslreports.com and look up your ISP's forums there to see if others are having this problem. I know that Optimum Online (who I have) was having huge issues with it, because it was missing hops on the way to MS' servers, causing people to lose connection. Call them up and they will give you steps on what to look for.

If I knew the IP for XBL, I'd help, but maybe try a tracert to www.xbox.com at your command prompt and see if you miss anything.

Was Casper talkin' English or not? :(

I feel for you, Captain. My XBL has been down for two days now. We've been getting an assload of rain, but I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. I can get online fine via PC, but my Xbox won't. It's happened before, but usually it only takes a couple hours and everything is hunky dory. This is the longest episode yet. I've checked the cables, and know that's not the problem. I've unplugged the modem and let is sit overnight. Nothing seems to work.

I say call your ISP and *****. That's what I'm gonna do if I don't get some satisfaction by tomorrow. Stupid technology.... :( :bang:

The same thing has been happening to me, and it's that your losing connection mid-game. This has happened a lot to me lately because our internet has intermittently come on and off, and sometimes it does it during the game, causing it to do that. Next time it does it, try and get on the internet with your computer and see if it''s a problem with your internet connection as a whole, or just the connection to your XBox. Either way you should call your ISP because there is a problem with your connection it sounds like, and it's either that your whole internet connection is going down, or it's what Casper said. A technician is coming out here to fix this for me tomorrow, the Cox people said that my "signal was a little off" and that's what was causing the problem.

Everytime I get booted out of Live I do go and check my computer and it's the same thing. My modem has no activity. It only looses activity after a few matches on Live. Is it possible that this problem will settle over time? Because it's wierd how I've been playing since Christmas and this problem has just started accuring. Also, it's been going on all day.

Sounds like the same exact thing that's happening to me, call your ISP and have them send someone to fix it, because it won't settle over time. Something is messed up with the signal accoriding to Cox, and they said that it needed to be fixed to fix the problem. Is Cox your ISP? I'm wondering if this is just something happening around my area's Cox, (happened in my Dad's neighborhood a few weeks ago with Cox) or if Cox as a whole is having a lot of problems similar to this one.

wbio, I've heard the guys you get your internet connection through are a bunch of Cox.

I know, it's spam, but it's GOOD spam! :p

Well, maybe I was wrong, it's been almost a week and they still haven't fixed the problem, they've made it worse. Now I have no internet access at all because apparently the dumbasses at Cox don't know ****. They've left a cable disconnected, so we can't get on the internet. It's been a real hassle trying to schedule an appointment for them to come fix it (again, this will be their 3rd visit, and so far none of them have worked) because the people who answer phones are idiots. The technicians left a note saying to call to schedule an appointment and we finally got that done after convincing the phone person that we needed it. They're supposed to come tomorrow, so hopefully we'll have internet again then (though I'm at my dad's house right now and have internet access). I hate Cox and ****s.

Captain, call your ISP. That's an issue you cannot control. About twice since I had live.. things were good and fine and all of sudden I was getting booted from games and I could not get on Live anymore. Then I had no internet even though I reset my modem and router.
The first time I called, Time Warner Road Runner came out the next day and changed something outside my apartment and presto, I was online again.

The second time it happened, exactly as the first time except I was told on the phone it was area wide outtage and it would be restored that night.

In short.. sounds like it's out of your hands. Call your ISP.
