Some people on my team just cheated.

In a recent big team, I was playing with some friends and clanmates when two guys, niether could I claim as a friend or clanmate, cheated at a CTF zanzibar match. We were outnumbered, but the situation was certainly not hopeless and it was only the opening round. At first I was confounded, "How did we just score?" After a few moments into the next round it became obvious as the two began congratulating each other.

To my surpise, my teammates started complimenting them and asking how they did it. After a minute or two, perhaps after hearing the first on their team call me a cheater, I got pissed off and starting cussing at my whole team.

They tried to explain to me that all the guys with top rankings, like in the 30's,did it.

Which I said fine, then let them play and cheat against one another.

Then another said, "But we were outnumbered, that wasn't fair."

As if he would think it would have been okay for the other team to cheat were they in our position.

Finally, one guy said, "Everyone who gets ahead in life does it by cheating."

While I felt the urge to call him a democrat ;) I was mostly aghast that he would use a real world analogy. I replied, "It's just ****ing Halo." My meaning being, a videogame is not worth my integrity and honor and honjest pride.

Obviously my meaning was far above their unscrupulous minds as their reply was "Yeah, what does it matter. It's a video game."

So I resigned, just warning them to never do anything like that under the banner of the lawless, and sat and stewed.

Hearing the other team call me a cheater was gross and ugly. I had no defense because I was guilty by mere association. I wasn't worried that they'd leave feedback, because I imagine it takes lots of feedback before any steps are taken.

My teammates's cheating stole more than the victory due our opponents, it stole a part of me.

Cheating is pathetic, it completely ruins a game. Shame you ended up on a team of cheaters, hopefully Bungie/Microsoft cracks down on these losers.

had my team use standy a couple times in the last 2 days.. never used against me yet though.. when it does, I'll likely flip out

i have the same attitude, if someone on my team uses it, i feel bad but i dont complain.. but if its done on me.. i get pissed... kinda like when someone kills you with a few shots... and your like WTF?!?!? and you kill people like that all the time

It sucks, but it happens. The cheating is getting pretty out of hand and needs to be dealt with. For now all you can do is report it and hope that something happens eventually.

They had this one the Bungie site today. "Stat Viewer is also useful for tracking the unfortunate incidents of modem-suspend cheating. The viewer shows impossible melee attacks, flag captures and assault moves—and, sad as it is, we've used those to ban the Xbox Live accounts of cheaters and are using the info to investigate ways of reducing or eliminating that exploit." :yikes:

I was the only one in the flag room.. I was STARING at the flag.. then it dissapears and its over by the bridge

Could someone tell me if the other team cheated in this game we played my clan is the Michigan Mafia and my friend was watching the flag and it just disappeared and then like 3-5 secs later they scored? Just wondering before I report it to Bungie.

I was on a team where a guy kept telling us to turn off our modems so we could win. Of course, my teamates refused and he got mad, calling us a bunch of pu$$ies. Whatever. Just don't let stupid video gaming stuff get to you man.

Save lines like "My teammates's cheating stole more than the victory due our opponents, it stole a part of me" for more important occurances. Its not worth it to fret about video games.

Not really, it happened to me when i first bought the game, i didnt know what was goin on, so i just played through it. I hate cheaters, and wish not to play with nor against them. True enough its a video game, but we, as gamers use this to either kill time, or releive stress. But there is nothing satisfying when playin with or against a cheater. And to think about it, its a waste of time, no one wants to waste their time when the outcome is inevitable. If i lose a match, and hard fought match, i dont complain, especially when i knew i had a chance to win. When we all win a match, we all are satisfied because we felt we earned it, right????

I mean, your aimbot won't help if I see you first and you wallhack won't help if I listen close and shoulder check a lot. The thing is, these cheats could be countered. As long as you were good, or at least smart, you could overcome the hackers.

But now I'm in a situation where I stare at a blue screen. I have no control. No skill or brains will help (shut up Maximus, I know what you're thinking).

Dude, That is hurting. I had some guys bugging me about that same thing the other day. I just told them "if you start cheating I start TK'ing, in other words, play fair, or enjoy respawning...a lot", so they stopped. Doesn't matter. It was the Clockwerk/Reclaimer show that night, we owned serious ass. Just goes to show, we don't 'NEED' LTM or Alpha. :p

I just got done playing a team slayer game w/ 4 complete strangers, one of my teammates when standbying. Every time he started to get shot he would standby. The opposing team ended up leaving and they blaimed it on all of us. :cuss:

Now, as far as I know, the issue stopped there and nobody said anything about it to me, I don't think they are inclined to try to report me for what they think.

I did not glitch. It's a barrier, but it's a gate that you can see through and you can shoot through.. why can't I grab the flag through the bars? That's no cheat or glitch.

The moral is that it might suck because it was tactically successful, but not everything should be construed as a glitch.

My opinion? Turning completely invisible with the ability to return teleport style and the ability to grab things through a solid wall is cheating.

I actually applaude those guys for trying to be vigilant about cheats, but some discretion is required.

Just for clarification, that was a suicide mission. My whole point was to grab the flag and throw it against the gate so you could grab it, and leave the 4 suckers stuck inside. Thank you kindly. BTW, it's not a glitch, it's completely intentional, it's makes the gate kind of a double edged sword, I've been running that play since day 1.

Oh yeah, and by the way, Reclaimer and I KICKED THEIR SORRY ASSES.

i was just in team training playin team fiesta against one guy with 3 guests on his team... the score was even for awhile when suddenly we get the blue stand by screen... then suddenly the other team takes off... my team starts gettin sniped non stop and it seemed like they would NEVER run outta bullets.. then i watch them spawn and each one has a sniper gun every single time... so its obvious the guy cheated but then somethin weird happened... i killed 2 of the guys on seperate occasions, got their snipers which each had 3 bullets in the chamber and 12 extras... i take 1 shot and all of a sudden its down to 4 bullets... twice this happened... anyone else have bullets mysteriously disappear?

yep i do it all the time..excellant strategy..i hop in a ghost and normally only about 2 guys are in the base (other guys are getting sniper(if i hadnt run over him :) ) and rocket ) and usually all they have is an smg or something to that liking...and normally one's upstairs on the other side so what I do is run in grab it throw it through the gate and have two of my buddies in the warthog grab the flag in run...all the while the rocket guy is dealing with my other teammate on the 2nd ghost. If you get that flag outside and have any shred of skill..it's game over..
