Glitching/Cheating = Bad?

Hey guys, I didnt quite know where to place this thread - Halo 2 or XBL.


On Bungie it says to report people who are using the modem standby button and "cheaters". Would something like getting on top of the wheel at Zanzibar be cheating? Is it against the XBL rules? If so, then why would it not be allowed if Bungie physicialy made it possibe to do these glithces?

Also, while im making this thread, If I accidently reported a person :rofl: , for screamming or watever, wat would happen? :rofl: What does Bungie do with the reports? Where is their proof that this person is actualy screaming or whatever?

Hah! We got on top of the base at Zanzibar on a TDM. The other team started screaming "cheaters." You can't do anything in Halo 2 without hearing some whiney punk calling you a cheater.

Would the dummy glitch constitute as cheating or glitching? I heard that in order for it to be cheating, an outside device such as a standby button on a modem has to be used, otherwise its in the game and can be used.

dummy glitch has to be cheating. taking the flag back within a second through all the walls has to be cheating...or unless master cheif is a magician.

if you can get there by normal jumping or flying then its A-OK. Anything else is considered cheating in my book, specially in a team based game where you go hide something using a glitch or a head to head where the guy gets a few kills and then makes use of a glitch to hide. Jerk offs.

I'm ok with people getting to hard to reach places and using glitches that could happen in real life (such as flag through windows) but of course not stuff like standby, and grabbing through walls

Someone just cheated their little asses off. I was yelling some of the other guys were yelling and after the game I reported him. He called it a standby cheat.

best game of assault ever: Me, TheCovenant, and BlueRanger are in the last round, and we're tied. So Blue jumps into a tree and hides for a little over two hours. The opposing team was full of whiners. The biggest loser was this guy named 'Oshine' He had trouble pronouncing: Spartan and the(he said 'Spaataaan' and 'da') We had time to all go over to the Covnenants house and watch them aimlessly look for the bomb. We then got breakfast and laughed about it.


best game ever, and not glitching....they were too stupid to look up in a tree for two hours!

I'm pretty sure the dummy glitch is considerd a cheat. I remember someone at Bungie commenting on how they can see where someone picks up the flag and their exact path, therefore they could ban those who used it.

Because there is a 1 in 1000 chance that when people from your team quit and leave you down several people, that if you hide the bomb well and delay the game for extended times, you can cause enough people on the other team to want to quit and it might just even out the score for you. In the fast games, the last team to score, even in a tie, wins. So it could work for you.
Plus it stalls out the clock for the remaining people on your team to go out and start killing people as much as possible so that when the game ends your kill score will put you higher on the ranks. I've lost games, yet game in top second place because I made a mad amount of kills, despite the fact we lost. So you loose less points for loosing the game and that's less people to get between you in the top spot sapping more points from you in the end.

As for the invisible dummy cheat, I think they can track you because the guy who does it gets awarded for the flag cap, right? So all they have to do is look at how long it took you to return with the flag, or the route you took to return. There won't be a route I don't think.

there is no doubt people cheat but jumping is not cheating obviously. I have encountered many people who just wont die!
