I don't get it. There were so many guys crying and moaning about the ending. It left me begging for more. I can't wait until the next Halo. I will be on that line. So anyway what was the problem? It was the greatest game I have ever played. I already started to run through it again.

Yeah the ending was terrible because it left me wanting more, it left me NO statisfaction of completing the game whatsoever. When I beat a game I want some sort of satisfaction before the end of Halo 2 to lead me onto Halo 3. Like have Master Chief find out Cortanna is working with the Covenant, THEN then game ends.... something very climactic to get me set up for Halo 3. Yes, that would still piss me off as an ending, but it would've been a good ending.

Yea, so did I for about 2 weeks after beating it, that was before I realized that I had NOT saved the Earth and that I thought the ending was pathetic compared to Halo.
Somebody must have said this already but after I didn't defeat the guy with the mo-hawk, the other elites did, I saw the cinematics and was waiting for more, but then I see the MC in the Prophet's ship and hear his "zappy ending line", right when the screen started to fade black I had some crossed feelings but I just hid them under my excitement of beating Halo2 and was all like "The story is awesome!!!!!!!11!!!1".
Just think about it.

but..the ending sucked. if bungie would've told us that there will be halo 2.5 or 3 to finish the story, i would've liked the ending better. face it..if you finish the game before hearing anything about the ending...how would you react?

I don't like that the intended ending was absent, but that was due to bad planning so there was nothing Bungie could do. A disappointing finish to the game? Yes. A disappointing end? Nope, we haven't seen it yet.

I felt the actual game wasn't as smooth as the first halo and the damn flood was just stipid this time around. The only thing i like about halo 2 is the multi player online.

Isn't it better to specualte amongst ourselves about what happened or what may happen next? I don't ever want it to end. Just keep pumping out great games and I can take cliffhanger after cliffhanger. :cheers:

I LOVE the ending as well.. Cliff Hangers RULE! I know a good majority of gamers do not care for the HALO2 ending, but that is OK. We all enjoyed the game and the fact that the game Cliff Hangs does not make HALO2 a bad game as reports around the web seem to indicate (on various forums, etc).. Once again Bungie went with a "unpredictable" ending, love it.

I was just getting into the game especially since I was finally returning to Earth after going through all that sh*t trying to get to the prophets and stuff, wondering wtf that Flood-like Mario tunnel monster thing way. Especially with the long ending cutscene, it got me real hyped up and it ends... didn't piss me off, just dissappointed b/c I couldn't finish the fight right there and then. I was overall pleased by the campaign though. The Covenant break-up was great and foreseen.

Sadly, Halo 3 probably won't come out in a while.

even in halo u didnt really save earth, it ended up getting attacked in halo2, did it not?
i have no problem w/ the ending of halo2, i like the last line the MC says, but there could have been a better ending, but i say its fine as is.

i would have minded the ending either, if we would know for sure we'd have the ending in the next 18 months or so, but i'd bet money that its gonna be 2007 before we get halo 3.

I just finished reading the 3 Halo Books and hate how it ended even more :mad: Now, I have more questions that weren't answered that I prob. have to wait another 3 years to get. :rolleyes:

Halo 2 is the best online console fps out there. Halo 2 Single Player on the other hand was just a sorry excuse for a story. I never felt like I accomplished anything. In Halo 1 I stopped the flood from getting to Earth or something like that. In Halo 2 I beat a guy with a mohawk? There is no comparison. The whole Halo story is just shallow. Its great for a video game story, but I've seen teenage comedies with better plots and character development. Stop saying its the greatest game ever. Everyone plays it for multiplayer and if you play it for single you are lying to yourself.

wasnt there a cut scene in the game where they spoke of more Halo's? i think there were about 7. But im not sure if it was 7 total or seven MORE. I have a theory that They are going to make a game for each Halo and maybe one more to finish off the covenant/flood/whoever the hell they make up next. In the end, they are just trying to tell a whole story which would be impossible to condense into one game.

The only problem with my theory is that it might get a tad repetitive by the time you destroy the 4th ring. BUt that is what makes gamemakers so great.They are able to tell the same story in a different way and make it better and better each time. Personally, I hope there is a Halo7, but that is up to bungie to decide.

How can EVERYBODY say all you did was beat a guy with a mo-hawk (Tartarus for those uneducated types). Life in the entire galaxy was milliseconds from being wiped out from Halo. Once the firsts one fires, (the energy pulse barely missed wiping out Johnson and Keyes) the other installations will "follow suit", BAM, end of everything as we know it. Thats a HUGE event, HUGE!!!! Did everyone just miss that or is everybody just ranting the same excuses you hear from people who wanted any reason possible to hate this game.
It just seems like all anybody remembers is MC got to earth and it ends. Would you really have wanted to fight the entire battle on earth in one or 2 levels??? One fighting the remaining covies, then another fighting the flood. I want the length of those battles to last as long as Halo 1 and 2 put together (that'd be nice). Since everything was thrown together as quick as it was, I'm glad they didn't do it. Thats a major event in the Halo universe and I don't want them to skimp on any little detail. To whoever said people who like the story are lying to themselves is just plain stupid. I read all the books, beaten both games on legendary more times than I can count, and am eagerly awaiting the next one. The story isn't what everyone expected, but did you expect the story when you played Halo for the first time 3 years ago. Everyone needs to appreciate it for what it is, not what it isn't. Plain and Simple.

Halo 1 harder then halo 2 are you on drugs I beat halo 1 on legendary for kicks I think be the time h2 came out I was on # 3 time around on legendary so when I got halo 2 Iam thinking ok sure hard mode won't be to bad bring Iam playing through and die for no reson at all I just die the story line rocked for the first halo and every level I remember little things about it . halo 2 was one big stipid blurr with boss battles I almost expected to see boss life bars over there heads. I feel the greatest thing about halo 1 was that on a weird level It was vary realisic, no life bar to bring down on my enamies no speical way to kill any one just My guns to thiers. I beat Halo 2 without ever playing halo 1 (I was a bit confused on the story early in, believe you me) since I just recently aquired an XBOX for the first time

so I don't know what kind of glorious ending halo 1 might have had that youre all comparing it to, but the Halo 2 ending is about what I expect out of video games these days. Yeah, I mean, it didn't wrap everything up, but would you really have been happy with a 3 minute video of all the brutes dying in a spacecraft explosion (or something) and thats it, every loose end wrapped up, hey guess what theres no need for halo 3? Probably not.
