So who here still uses that fat mama controller that came with the original Xbox's at launch?

I have been using an S controller for the past two years and tried to pick up my original MS controller the other day, man was it awkward. I felt very uncomfortable and was unable to play with ease. Needless to say, the experiment ended abruptly.

I still use and prefer the bid daddy controller, but One of them has a cord that is broken so I'm down to me last one. They're getting hard to find now.

i used to be in love with the duke controllers. but when i got used to the S in like 2 days after playing halo on xbc, i fell in love with the S and dumped the duke.

I didnt think i would switch, but o well.

I use the S controller and have for several years. I don't mind the size of the Duke but I do not like how the A,B,X,Y buttons are laid out. They are too close together and it causes me to hit A and jump when I really want to hit B and melee.

I don't have any Dukes left. I game them away. I have 4 S types and I was slowly replacing my Dukes with a new S type as soon as they came out.

I have a Japanese Inport S-Type, a U.S. S-Type, A Halo ED Green S-Type and an Intec Micro S.

Not in a long time. I went to the S and played with it for like a year. Now I use the Logitech wireless controller. I love no wires. :D

I love my duke. I have been playing with it since xbox launch. But recently I left my controller over at a friends, after a hard core lan party. So, I've been using a mad cat for about 2 weeks. Might get it back this weekend though. :bang:

when i got my xbox last summer it came with a S controller and i bought a Duke cuz i liked them better. I recently started using the S, really just to see if i liked it, and i havent used my other one. I think they are both really good, but if they had the button layout of the S on the duke then it would be awesome. I also wish they would have kept the same D-Pad on the S as the Duke. The original d-pad is awesome. They dont react different i just like the feel of the old d-pad better. I'm prolly gonna buy 3 more S's just so my freinds dont whine when they play my xbox.

Agreed. The Duke is the best controller ever made for a console in my opinion.

I love my Duke controller... And when I break my last one, I will be very upset. I just feel so relaxed and comfortable holding the large controller. I cant adjust to the S, and I have tried.

Funny ^^^^ No one is allowed to touch my Duke!!!! My BF used to use my Duke when playing Hockey, but he kept messing up the left thumbsticks so I had to put an end to that. Doesnt matter now anyway, he uses the S and I hide my stash of backup Dukes.

I've got a pile of Duke's and one S that I keep for when people come over. Just can't use the S.

Fortunately a store by me has 'em stockpiled and I'm the only customer who buys them.

I started out with a controller S so that's what I'm used to, I tried playing at my friends house, he only has dukes, and it just felt so weird. I'm sure if I started out with a Duke then I would be fine.

I only use S for sports games, mainly just football. Kind of a hassle pressin stiff-arm which basically means i gotta stop pressin A to turbo (ESPN Football) so I kinda prefer it for that. But other than that, mainly FPS's, love the duke. It fits my hand like a glove, though I do admit I like the S d-pad and more than the PS2 controller. My hands have just grown so much I can't stand using the PS2 controller, that's why I use the wireless mad-catz one on PS2, those things are nice.

My biggy controller broke about a month ago (same way as they all do, the wire coming out), and my madcatz controller's left trigger doesnt work and it causes me to throw grenades all the time for reason and the right thumbstick doesnt press in so i cant zoom anymore (this is all in halo2). So if you're ever playing with me, don't get mad if it seems like i cant snipe or i TK you with grenades. Its not my fault!

I still have 5 Duke controllers - I'll never use the S for as long as I have my XBox.Same exact here. I bought an extra when I heard MS wasn't going to make anymore. All of mine still work except on one where the d-pad is stuck(Mt. Dew). I can probably clean it, but I still got 4.

I still have four working dukes, I use them all the time. Well, they seem to enhance how I play and I end up doing better. I also have two controller s's but I only use them when I'm playing a game that doesn't require quick reflexes. In my opinion, anyone who uses the s has small girlish hands! Jk.

Its unfortunate the dukes had to crap out on everyone. A lot of people liked them more then S (including me). Now im stuck using my ghetto madcatz controller (if you've played halo2 with me you understand how ghetto it is)

Exactly true!

The Japs had the S controller on launch because they have on average smaller hands than us Westerners...

And by the way....why are you all calling it the "Duke"!?!?

The Duke like the Xbox seemed to be designed for American adults and fits my larger hands perfectly. Now, when I hold a PS2 controller it kind of reminds me of a Japenese compact car. Small and cheap. I like the Duke, big, heavy, substantial like an American truck. S-type was an answer for everyone with small hands that was overwhelmed by the original. You can find them easy on Ebay brand new for $20-$30 shipped. Cheaper used.

Used the duke for years until I got my Crystal XBox. Now I love the S. Find it a little hard going back to the duke.
