New Cheat Makes me strike Halo 2.

I'm done until adequet patches are released to fix these glitches and cheats.

In a Coagulation game this morning.. multi-CTF... one minute in, a player named "Uneek X" obviously was cheating.

1 minute into the game we all hear

"flag captured, lost the lead, flag captured.. flag captured.. game over"

all within 1 minute. Lost 3-0.

Yeah, been noticing way more cheating in the last week or so. Last night had some kids lag cheating. Me and a buddy of mine got irate and started talking mad chit at these kids, and they finally stopped when they were up 29-2. Funny thing is, we were using some pretty searing language, and not one of the four of those guys said ANYTHING back to us, which just tells me they were guilty. Not only that, we went on a rampage once they stopped modem-glitching and cut their lead to 10. At game's end, they just bounced out of the room w/o a word. :bang:

MixMasta was w/ us that round, I believe. Anyway, have had the instant flag capture thing pulled on me too before, and imagine that soon enough there will be new, more devious glitches that appear. I hope not, but w/ the tight deadline Bungie had, I can't imagine they had all the time they wanted to make the game as tight as possible. :(

What little gaming time I have I don't want to spend it listening to a 13 year old scream in my ear that he owns me, all the while cheating like a bastard. Probably the Dummy Glitch... can score 3 flags within a couple of seconds if you place it right.

A bit off topic, here, but Chewy's got something there. I've been considering getting rid of my consoles altogether and getting a new PC. Have been for some time, now. While I love to park my ass on the La-Z Boy and play on the boobtube, I find that console games get old quick. Online games have a little more staying power, but eventually even that gets old. I mean, I have about 20 games that I've held onto, but I honestly don't see myself ever picking them up again.

Who knows. I still need to mull it over, but I feel like if I was running a newer PC, I would spend half as much money on games because I could pick up 2 or three that I would willingly play over and over and over for months. Add in the ability to mod in many PC shooters, and the pure superiority of a high-end PC, and my Xbox just seems like a toy. Also, the PC is awash in RPGs, something the Xbox just can't get right. It's just like there is so little to look forward to gamewise for the Xbox now. This generation, kids, is pretty much said and done.

As it is, I'm looking to see what new Xbox game is coming down the pipe each week because I've yet to pick up an Xbox game that keeps me coming back months later. Sure, Halo was fun here and there. I still get on SCPT, regardless of the all the cheating mofos out there. Morrowind was a blast and a daily routine until the DDE's made it unplayable. Fable was over for me in a week. I'd pick up a PS2 just because there are a ton of games I haven't played on the platform, but online gaming has me hooked, and Xbox's lineup just slams PS2's for online gaming IMO.

Anyhow, yeah, cheating sucks.

I don't think they could remove the Elite from the game but they could make it so you couldn't sign in as the Elite model.

Yep, I hear ya Thrash. Here is my dilema. I get lets say 5 hours to play games durring a week. Yes, that is only 5 total, welcome to the world of wife/kids/family/work...hehe. So I have one of my precious hours coming up and I turn on Halo2. A quick scan of my friends list shows me that 5 people are online, 4 of which are playing in clan matches, and the other guy is in with a bunch of people I don't know. Alrighty, then. That took me a whopping 3 mintues, so I guess I am off to City of Heroes.

The games that I like on the Xbox are single player games. The Suffering, Voodoo Vince, Fatal Frame. Those are all games that don't exist on the computer. If a game is done on the computer and the Xbox without fail the PC version is better. I know you guys like Halo2 a lot, but I have been playing games like that for the PC for years online. Hell, Counter Strike is still a better game that Halo2.

I really like playing on Live with the guys from XBA and TPB, you guys are always a blast. The problem is that I never know when I will be able to get online, so I can't organize meeting with you guys. I am afraid I am just going to have to make that canceling phone call today. :(

Ya this glitch is known as teh "dummy" glitch. A couple people did this on a clan match and when it was over we told them we were gonna report them to bungie and they said that bungie did this and put it in the game for a reason.

EDIT--- I just read the whole forum and I saw that was already mentioned. Just find the clone and kill it, thats how you beat those glitching bastages :cheers:

the thing is you cant move when you do it or youll be teleported back to your body.unless theres a way to move.

If nothing is done to fix online cheating, especially with Halo 2, I will not renew XBL, and I will be a computer gaming person (online) only. This is getting absolutely rediculous. This is exactly why Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow became horrible to play online; people cheating. I'm sick and tired of great games being ruined because of people cheating.

this sucks to say the least. halo2 is the only game i want to play, but i'm soo sick of the cheaters. not to mention the guys that run their mouth all the time, but atleast there's a simple fix for that.

i don't understand why people would even want to exploit these stupid dumby glitches and use the standby trick, because what fun is it taking a flag back to your base uncontested or arming the bomb uncontested? it just doesn't make any sense to me.

Im new, and don't have Halo 2 yet, but I do plan on getting it. As for all this, It makes me almost turn away from the game. How many people can be in a match? I can think of one boring remedy, but who wants to play with the same people over and over again? (the remedy is just starting matches with people you know) If people can enter at anytime, then this is out, but hey, im just a newb. As for the cheaters, they should all BURN IN HELL:cuss:

It is up to 8 on 8 players in a single match. I became confused on the rest of your post but Im sure one of the other membes will answer it.

I find it funny that Halo had virtually no glitches and Bungie never made it to be played online but Halo 2 is ruined because of cheating and glitches and Bungie worked on it for 3 years. gj Bungie.

And I completely agree with Thrasher. I've played WoW twice and I know I'd be addicted to it. If I had the dough I'd definately dump console gaming for now.

Well, I got CS: Source and the servers I play on have hardly any cheaters ever. And once I get WOW, I'll be stuck on my PC.

But Halo 2 still is addicting to me, I don't really have that many problems with cheaters, except yesterday, that was ****ing ghey.

I agree though, play customs games. Don't get rid of XBL...Halo 2 is still a ton of fun, and I always have a lot of fun playing custom games.

Give it some time, Bungie is working on it. I'll keep an eye out for the progress. If I see or hear anything I will let you guys know. For now, play custom games, rumble pit, and team slayer to avoid cheating. The other playlists should be ignored if you don't like the risk of being glitched or cheated on.

I have witnessed this cheat last night.
Look, I'm no noob. If you've played with me, you know I know my **** and I'm meticulous about defense and tactics.

Waterworks:Big Team Battle: Classic CTF with Wraiths.

The game starts and it's a violent begining with the other team bringing the onslaught to us. We hold them off with me taking a shotgun and sword after the first wave.
I'm watching the flag. I'm in the room with the flag, loaded for bear. I have a sniper upstairs, a wraith outside and a guy with the RL with me inside.

Nobody comes. No vehicles. Nothing. Radar clear, no intruders, sector is clear.

I'm still looking at the flag, kind of orbiting it with the sword out. The flag disapears, the voice says "Flag Taken". One second I'm looking at it, then it's gone.

I count seconds off when a flag is taken in my head. It gives me a good idea of how long it will take me to run down the flag taker on foot.
Four seconds, Blue Team lost the lead.

Everyone goes nuts..
I'm asking everyone. Nobody saw anything or anyone. No vehicles arrived, nobody came from the popular routes and nobody came into the base.

Seconds later, Flag taken. Five seconds later. Red Team Scores.

Same deal, sector clear, no intruders, flag disapears from it's holder.

Then it happens again. Total time, a few minutes to complete the game. 0-3 with us loosing.

The post caranage report was dramatic with people screaming left and right. We all left the cheater feedback because it was three different people that made a point, the exact same way. They where in a party together because they all left at the exact same time from the PCR.

I'll post the names when I go back and examine my stats.
It was horrible. Now I'm angry because I love halo 2. I love playing this game.
I know about the cheats. I know about the dummy glitch with the vehicles and the flag through the floor and walls.
This is unacceptable.

I don't know why people would sink so low to cheat at a video game. First you have to be pretty crappy at Halo in the first place and be nerdy enough to find and exploit glitches in the game. It's just a game it doesn't matter in real life.

Bout time Whisper, I've boycotted Halo 2 for about 3 and a half weeks now. Cheating, weapon inconsistency, cheap tactics, my connection sucks, and fun < winning.

I'll only play with friends and XBA'ers in non-matchmaking games. That's assuming someone can convince me to go on live in the first place.

I've seen you hold back mass amounts of people from getting even midfield on BTB Coagulation. Even sniping on the run on Zanzibar, shooting over my shoulder. I was impressed.

Totten and I held back a mad rush with his sniping and me running amuck with the shotgun. He was making all kinds of quick snap head shots.

That game will always stand out because you were sniping people all around me and I was killing people that were getting up too close. It was pure chaos, but we managed to live through it and hold them back. I was actually counting the seconds until I would die because I was in Running Riot and my shields never had a chance to full recharge. But you kept me alive.

I had that happen two times in two differnt games, someone got the flag and automatically scored a point within seconds, so a bunch of us reported the guy. And then that warthog thing somebody pulled off, get in the warthog and keep pressing a button with the flag and get an automatic score, however all of this passed the testing that Bungie did, sure amazes me.

Watch the video on the bonus disc. Jones says it all when he mentions their time constraints. The game was rushed, that's all there is to it. Still a great game w/ the right people, but obviously has some holes in it's armor.
