Heard of this New Glitch?

Well, I was playing with a friend and his friends on Team Skirmish yesterday. One of the guys starts talking about some of the glitches that are being used (i.e. Standby, Dummy, Pulling through walls, etc.). Anyways, he starts talking about this new glitch that he referred to as the Dummy Standby Glitch. Got me interested since I've never heard of it. He tried to explain it. He said that you basically do what you do to be a Dummy in the Dummy glitch and such. After you become a dummy, you hit Stand-by and run a bit, undo stand-by after a sum amount of seconds (I guess so you don't get dropped out). Hit stand-by and run a bit more, undo stand-by. Repeat Process until you get to the flag. Then after you get the flag you walk and ta-da back to the place where you dummied. When they stand-by, the screen doesn't go blue, BTW. The guy's lag goes to red. The guy on my team claimed that it was undetectable... I claimed bs...

The ironic thing is that in the game we were talking about it, the other team had done it to us :mad: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStats.aspx?gameID=52915438&player=Lord%20Stonepaw (Don't know why but we kept getting paired against 17s and 18s) The sad thing is that they weren't better than us, if not equal, to us.

So, I figured I'd ask XBA guys if you all heard of this glitch. If not, then be glad I told you :p Anyone noticed how the strategy on Zanzibar is to send at least one guy to the other base to check for a dummy :(

I agree, I think Im gonna go back to the good old Halo days and play some LAN games with my friends. Im done with Xbox LIVE unless if SC:CT is so frickin unbelievable.

yeah, ive heard of it and i can do it as well with other tricks/glicthes/etc but i swear to god that i have never used them in match making, i'll be only cheating my self and putting my self in danger of getting banned if reported. i have no respect to my clan or person who uses them in a actual game. hopefully bungie can fix this QUICK, because it will die like everyone is saying

as for the trick your talking about, it's old, the newer tricks that i don't know that are being done on me are even cheaper. I was playing a big team battle 8 on 8 and 1 min into the game all you hear is "flag taken. flag captured" 3 times in a row and the game is over in a flash, now that is some bs right there. for an other instance assualt zanzibar, i was in the bomb room defending and there was NO ONE around and the bomb magically was taken then scored 3 secs later. and the thing was there was a never a blue screen except when you start the match and when its over.

Those are the dummy glitches. Not too many people know how to do the assault one but I know poeple who can.

I still don't get the point of cheating in a video game. On a test in school, it can get you a good grade, which will help your grade in the class, which leads to a better GPA, which leads to getting into a good college, which leads to a good job, which leads to making a good living.

In a game......what can cheating in a game bring you?? Bragging rights that you are a high level in Halo 2??? ****ing ghey if you ask me.

Cheating in school doesnt do that unless it is on the SAT or the other big tests b/c if a lot of colleges just look at that. However I seen where you are coming from.

I think this is the same cheat that Whisper is talking about in his thread, the one I witnessed in a Big Team Battle.
It's horrible. The flag just disappears without a trace.

From what I've experienced.. the vehicle transported dummy and now the solo dummy.
It really bugs me.

It's not impossible to overcome this glitch, hard but not impossible. Just have to some people to their base and confiscate their Hog. Also, be on the look-out for their dummy or people attempting/protecting dummy.

Luckily I don't think I 've experienced any cheating but also I not the highest level the categories where people cheat the most. Oh ya Chupacabra above you pretty much posted the same thing twice, probably just a IE error or something and you thought you didn't post it.

I'm on duty now. I'm on duty for 3 days straight, then I'm off of 3 days straight. I play when I'm off after my son goes to bed. I'll be back on around Sunday night to start my play Halo 2 late at night binges.
