Im level 11 in Team Slayer and Team Skirmish...I need some good players to help get my ranking up..it seems like for a month ive been at 11...None of my friends are that great and the ones that are actually good are never online all together..I'm an okay player (Level 7 in Rumble Pit 11 wins out of 22 games with about 5 games being lag outs) and will sacrifice myself for the good of the team... I dont care about my Kill stats just want the team to win. If anyone wants to play with me my gamer tag is ThePetyak...
Im a level 12 all-around (sometimes I can get to 13 but I go back) and I need some really skilled poeple o play w/. Unfortunately Im grounded for 1 week and 6 days. Add me to your list and we'll play after my grounding. I play at 3 ETS

don't be so eager.. once you get up around 13-14 75% of games have cheaters

Oh no, once I was a 14, almost every single team we played cheated. Not 75%. I really like 12 because only like 5% cheat.

I went from 10 to 12 yesterday in Team Slayer. It was cool. Hit me up on Live if you want.

I haven't played much recently because of finals but I have realized that if your stuck on a level just try other categories in matchmaking for a little while.

hey, if you know how to get the host in TSlayer (like i do) then the people dont cheat you... its one game where we dont get cheated.

Bungie even said that you'll get stuck at a particular level because that's the level you really play at. You can try to promote an advancement by playing with good friends, but whenever you don't play with them, you obviously won't have that advantage and over time you'll loose enough or tie enough to get demoted back to the rank you that denotes your actual skill level.
I agree with that statement and I think the only way to actually get over the level humps is to play better.
Believe me, I've been stuck between 12-13 on BTB. I get my friends on and we kick ass and I'll get up, then after awhile of not having them around, I'll sink back to a 12.
Yes, games like BTB have a lot of outside influences that can determine your game and rank like playing with morons and whatnot. However, the gross total of games you play still determines what your supposed skill level is. You can't possibly play with 7 other jackasses every game you play.
I'm not big with the ranks. However I do agree with the notion that Bungie mentioned that in the long run it does indicate your skill and the only true way to get up levels is to be better by practicing.
Yes, people cheat all the time, but they have to continue to cheat to get up levels, because I gurantee that people who cheat often to hurdle up the ranks would actually lose ranks if they played a fair game. A fake level 15 would get slaughtered by real and true 15s.
Don't stress man, I've been there, and I'm there right now. It was pretty quick to get to a 10 on BTB, but the road to 13 was painfully slow. But I do see what they mean because I was slowly getting better and recognizing situations and just tactically getting stronger, so when I did advance it was because I actually earned it.
