View Full Version : Headlong nightmare

Well, the odds of being cheated against finally caught up with me and my group last night. Playing Assault on Headlong, we were on defense. We defended a few attempts and then the timer stuck on .05 seconds.
The offense hid the bomb from us for two hours in various places only accessible by Banshee (they had taken ours and hidden it as well). I've given feedback to all of them and have written an email to Bungie as well, but BTB will probably never be played by me in the near future. :cuss:
I'm still po'd that cheaters spend more time finding ways to cheat and annoy other players than just playing, but I guess it's just their way of having "fun".
Anyway, here are the names of the ****heads on the cheating team. If you see any of them online, throw additional bad feedback their way please!

Mapplewhite
WierdSk8erBoy (the **** who hid the bomb the entire game)
All Bungie has to do to suspend these guys is look at the kill totals for the game. All of our team had more than 60 kills with the most being 80. WierdSk8erBoy had only 13 in his various hiding places.
I've seen mapplewhite before, don't remember him cheating, but he was an ass.

Basterds, its knob heads like these who make the game no fun for other peeps in team training there are a whole lotta less glitches and the peeps are decent cos there noobs and just wanna play and have not ben subjected to the glitches, today I was playing ctf and at the point of the game starting a warthog filled with guys struck the middle of the base and the warthog was on top of the flag then the knobs disserpeard and it said we lost we played for 10 seconds it sucks.

Put a link up to the stats. I want to see the Game Viewer and see where they went to prevent this from happening to me.

Do you have a link or somewhere to report cheaters?

Reclaimer....long story, but the bottom line is I can't get a Bungie.net log in to work correctly. I'll PM you the gory details...I just didn't want to pass along where they hid in case someone other than an XBA member might want to use it as well.

I forget exactly where I emailed them last night, but just click on the "contact us" link on the Bungie.net site and you'll see where to email them.

If your tired of cheating, play with people you know dont cheat...people on friends list. We always group up, about 12 or so, and have some fun..we mix things around and play zombie matches..etc. Look me up if u ever get really fed up with it all..

but it gets boring playing against friends all the time... in a game of this caliber you shouldnt have to resort to only experiencing online play at 50% and not being able to play other people in fear of cheating... these people are such losers... cheating is bad enough but to keep it up for 2 hours?! get a life already and just play the game

Quite honestly, that does sound annoying, but not like cheating to me. If they can do it within the games normal Parameters, IE flying a banshee to a high up spot, I don't think it's cheating.
Now, if they start glitching and soing stuff outside the games normal parameters, that's cheating. Like getting outside the map, or superspeed etc. Even sword sniping and cancelling.
Ofcourse, I do think that would have been annoying, and it makes me lose respect for those kids. However, on the flip side, I think it's wrong to call it cheating. They are just using cowardly tactics.
I think the word cheating gets thrown around too much these days. Everyone is looking for an excuse.

Too many people on Live don't know the difference between cheating and taking advantage of something. I consider cheating to be glitching, doing stuff like the Dummy Glitch and Standby. However, doing this is taking advantage of the Sudden Death. This is why I like to rush the enemy's base right when their bomb returns b/c most people either hide the bomb or take their sweet ass time. Returning to my point, lots of people accuse me and my party of cheating. If the game gets a little laggy, I seem to always hear the other team shouting "They're cheating on us" or "They're standbying", and this is even when they're lag goes to red/yellow as the REST of our party. Also, I don't consider flag-bouncing on Colossus to be a cheat b/c it's taking adv. of Halo 2's engine. Because of the way people cry wolf all the time, I think it'd be hard for Bungie to sort it out and accurately ban the actual cheaters, even if they say they carefully examine. The above is probably why I got a 1 day supension (lasting today) from Live. Got scurred when I heard that I got a message stating "You have a message from Xbox Live you must read before signing into Live". The day went by so slow

Wouldn't be that bad, but people over do it heh.. they must have no true life, if they have to do such things to just be good in a game..seriously.

I don't think they were technically cheating like MerimacHamwich said. But that is going overboard with the sudden death. I think their strategy was to hid the bomb long enough until you guys left and they won be default. That I have to say is a very poor strategy that involves no actual playing of the game. I could see that in a clan match but not in BTB. If you lose you lose, why waste everyone elses time.

Someone tried to do that to me but we wiped them out as they tried to float the bomb out on top of the banshee..We then did it to them the next round and when we got up there they knew they were screwed.. My team went and got a bite.. went to bathroom got a drink..By then 4 people were left.. So they kept trying to get up when we actually went around jumped down and planted...They were all still where we had recently been hiding. MUAUAHAHAHHA

Went back on my vow to not play BTB last night. Fortunately no BS was pulled on us.
Playing with friends only gets old. Taking a group to try and beat strangers is more of what Xbox Live is about....IMO.
