The Battle Rifle is a n00b weapon!

That is what I am hearing all the time when I play Team Slayer on Colossus and Beaver Creek. I've gotten fairly good with plasma pistol / battle rifle combo, and I can usaully pull off the head shot once out of every two or three times. Anyways, I had like 11 out of 16 kills in a Colossus match that my team lost 50 to 46 and in during the game and in the post game lobby the other team kept telling me that the battle rifle is a such a n00b weapon and **** like that. It has also happened on Beaver Creek.

Wasn't it back in November people were calling this the ****tiest weapon in the game, and then in December people called it a hard weapon to master?

Man people can be so ghey in this game, lol.

I've seen some guys who will dust you if they get that plasma shot off. It hits, and you're dead. Anyow, as far as I'm concerned, F 'em. It's hard to blow it off when you got some dude calling you out or trying to piss you off. Just brush it off your shoulder and keep on keepin' on, Mix. I've been using the pistol/smg dual and getting some pretty quick kills. Anybody ever calls that a n00b combo, I'm gonna be like, "WTF, what do you mean n00b? Huh? Define n00b for me, you knuckle-dragging-yard ape." Or something to that effect. Man...I love shuttting loudmouths up on Live.

Theres nothing wrong w/ the battle rifle, u just have to know how to use it, i find theres nothing wrong w/ it

It was probably the most underrated weapon until people found out how to use it. That ****s pretty hot. Like 3-4 burts to the head and they're dead. That can be faster than double wielding

The Battle Rifle is a good gun some people just cant use it right and are made taht they keep dying. As for them calling you a n00b, i always like to respond with, "Only n00bs call people n00bs". lol (kinda lame i know but hey it works.)

Just keep aiming at the head. I usually use that as my secondary weapon since I'm not a very good sniper and thats about halfway between a sniper and SMG.

Hehe, a n00b weapon... I was playing some TS on Beaver Creek with some LG brothers and I had 20 kills, 3 deaths, and 18 headshots. No sniper rifle or magnum use either. A n00b weapon? In the hands of a n00b...yes. In my hands? You wish.

I don't see how it can be called a noob weopon I am pretty good at the game and I can't use the battle rifel at all. or the carbine for that mater. I think its just people *****ing because your making them look like noobs . keep it up man.

I don't consider it a n00b gun at all. I heard some people say that, but people usually say that about lots of different combinations just because they can't shake it off. I don't use the Battle Rifle that much really, only a last resort, it isn't my gun of choice.

Really, the only weapon that is a gauranteed n00b weapon, in any game it shows up in, is the rocket launcher. It's a point and shoot weapon. No real accuracy or skill is needed.

I used to hate that damn Battle Rifle. I would avoid it like the plague.
Until I started to screw around with it.
Now it's my second weapon of choice behind the shotgun. For my defensive play, I love it. Guard the base. Use the BR to waste mid range runners. Use the shotgun for up close work. Now I have my mid to close field covered.
Works for me.

I totally agree. I can't even count how many games I've lost in TSlayer or Rumble Pit b/c of a Rocket Whore. I can kill a rocket guy but it's so one-sided. They jump and shoot at ur feet. Then ur dead... just like that. I'll work my ass of the whole game and some one will get 4 ez kills from a rocket. Shouldn't be on the small maps.

And I am loving this battle rifle even more now. Yesterday, I was playing MM Team Slayer on Beaver Creek and Ivory Tower and all I did was use the BR and Plasma Pistol. I wouldn't kill anyone without it, good practice. The best would be guarding the rocket spawn so a teammate of mine could get it, and seeing someone underneath me, hitting them with the plasma pistol, and dropping from the arch shooting one burst directly into their head and killing them.

I don't understand how it is a noob weapon. The scope on the gun does not magnify that far, and it sucks at close range.

Unless you are just godly with it I can't understand that. We played a kid last night that almost all he used was that combo, he did pretty good with it, having the most kills on his team, but he also had 15 or so deaths. I think I took him out two or three times when he was heading towards me ready to unleash. He would shoot his plasma pistol, but before the charge got to me he was dead and couldn't take advantage of my lowered shields.

Meh I prefer a Plasma rifle and a SMG combo.

I also prefer this combo, I like ambush playing more anyways. I also like the covie sniper more than the human one too. If I have the plama pistol and a smg I feel very confident about going up against a rocket or sword.
Even groups are fodder in the right lay out, I can charge around a corner let loose the first plsma shot and a half clip of smg and duck back behind the corner and recharge my plasma waiting for the second victim to come running around the corner looking for an easy kill.

Ofcourse if you miss with that plasma shot you are as good as dead.

BR a noob weapon? WTF! i bet you heard this from the same idiot who gets all of his kills with the sword. The BR is one of the few weapons in the game that require the most skill. Most of Halo2 is chance anyway. The only skill involved is accuracy. So if you are getting your kills with the BR, keep on truckin, and pump those SOB's full of lead.

The Battle Rifle is arguably the most versatile weapon in Halo 2 and is probably the closest we get to the Halo 1 pistol.

I have no idea what you mean by the BR being a n00b weapon.

The needlers has its moments, like on Foundation, dual weilding needlers to take out a turret or rocket guy, and on Beaver Creek, dual weilding to take out a sniper or rocket guy on the arch.
