I know the easiest way to get the CG gallery and all the costumes is to collect all the items in survival mode, and I've already collected all the items for each character, but I can't get the special items. Is there a certain number of wins or points you need before the item appears?

Have you checked Gamefaqs (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/file/dead_or_alive_ultimate_2_collection.txt) yet?

yeah, the FAQ their said the rare items usually come up within the first ten KOs. But you might need to replay with a character for over an hour, I guess I'll just have to keep trying.

Well, i get all of them but just the last one.....how to get this one?
getting the medal is HARD, I still haven't managed that. My best is like ~30 KOs with the tengu in survival mode

How I got the special items is this:
Do lots of low attacks. Like when your opponent is down just lying there stomp on his or her head, body etc. An extra item pops up.
Also after you get two special items shut off your xbox.Do this everytime you get two special items. Shut the game off first then turn the xbox on again. I don't know why but doing this makes the rare items appear more often. Anyhow it worked for me
Only go through the first ten opponents. It seems that the special item will appear morso at that time. Besides they stay on the ground longer.

I found that Tengu is not as good as a lot of the other characters.
I used Ayane.

The second page in the collection are the unique items. Each character has one.
They appear randomly. I got lucky and they appeared before I had defeated eight to ten oppopnents. Some people get them in a week or less and other people get them in a month or more.
Kasumi has cherries and they appear fast.
Here is a list.
- Zack: Parfait
- Tina: Roast Chicken
- Jann Lee: Dragon
- Ein: Scroll
- Hayabusa: Golden Scarab
- Kasumi: Cherries
- Gen Fu: Mahjong Counter
- Helena: Locket
- Leon: Missile
- Bass: Champion Belt
- Leifang: Decorated Cake
- Ayane: Tiara
- Tengu: Fan
- Bayman: Darts
- Hitomi: Toaster
General tips
========
- Put the difficulty on easy, if you haven't yet...
- Use the quick down attack, which is either down+p or down+k depending on the
character. Check the command list under down attacks to find out which it is.
- Should you choose to want to restart the battle, let yourself be killed. This
way, if you did get the item you wanted but it happened too quickly and you
didn't realize it, you will see it in the results screen.
Tips to help with the unique rare items
========
- With some of the faster characters, you can do over 5 down attacks in a row
while the enemy is lying on the ground, especially on the "dumber" ones that
come at the start.
- When using characters that can do several down attacks in a row, put the
energy bar setting to largest in the options. This way, the dumb guys that
come at the start won't die so quick. I have been able to do well over 15
quick down attacks on the first enemy this way, with the enemy managing to
get up only 2-3 times.
- Take advantage of the first few dumb enemies, since as you go up in wins they
will start to recover faster from being down meaning less down attacks in a
row.
- When using characters that do slow quick down attacks, where the enemy always
gets up after only 1 quick down attack put the energy bar setting to
smallest. This way the enemies will die faster, and 1 item pops up with every
win.
- The more items you get to pop out of enemies, the faster you'll come across
your unique rare item.
- Should you not get your unique rare item by 10 wins, start over. It seems to
be that when the unique rare items come up usually within the first 10 wins.
- Should you choose to want to restart the battle, let yourself be killed. This
way, if you did get the item you wanted but it happened too quickly and you
didn't realize it, you will see it in the results screen.
- Finally, don't despair. The unique rare items really don't come around often.
It's only a matter of time before it does, so patience. It can take as much
as an hour of playing over with the same character before it comes up, or as little
as ten minutes.
