I'm hyped for it. I thought the last game was sweet. Justa little over the top as far as the knockouts but the boxing mechanics were on spot. I want it and I shall be knocking jokers out. I don't know if it's online or not though but that would be the icing.

well i missed the first one, but il give this a try...
but let me tell you a secret.... i think EA stole the idea of total punch control from me, i had messed about with the idea of designing a game with that exact feature years before fight night ever came out.....
but lucky for ea im not going to sue!!

total punch control is a great feature, its what makes fight night the only good boxing game, and not just a button masher (not that those cant be fun)
the knockouts can be a little over the top, with the ragdoll physics and all, but I'll be at least renting this one to see if they've made any big changes.
pray for live support!

Did you play last year's Fight Night? It was the perfect boxing sim - I was shocked. I'll be getting this.

Btw - this is completely on XBL. The only thing I can see being a problem is having lag, but I'd imagine you can check your opponents connection before hand.

BTW this game is not like last years. I have mixed feelings about it. It seems as though when you fight for the title the same guy who you stomped earlier in his career is suddenly almost as good as Ali. They "parry" everything. And I mean everything. I know I am not the best gamer but I can go with the best of them. However, this game makes me rethink that position. How can the AI know hat I am going to throw so quickly? Honestly, last years was really good and I may have to get that one back.

Matt, glad you have the same opinion on it as I do. While I didn't have the problem with earlier contenders becoming Ali status... I definately ran into an excess of counters and parrys. It really ruined the game for me... but overall it was fun. It seemed like I'd get killed if I didn't fight in a punch and run format... hopefully the game will be reworked with better balancing next time around... and by then it should look like we are watching the real thing... at least that's what I'm hoping happens with Xbox 2.

Well, I am the heavtweight champ, the light heavy champ and I unified the titles. I am 41 and my skills are diminishing fast. I have a mandatory heavyweight bout with a guy who is way more powerful than me. I may just give up the belt. Anyway, I do the same thing stick and move. It is realistic in that regard but it's just a little too much at times.
