Fellow Addicts, my team in slayer was beating the other team 17 to 4 in the beginning of a game on ivory tower. Realizing the game was pretty much out of reach, after I killed someone and died I heard Kakeman22 say "do i have host??" Sure enough, for the next 10 minutes they used standby.   What should have been a 4 minute stomping turned into a 12 minute freeze-respawn gayfest.

take a peak at the final stats:

http://bungie.net/Stats/GameStats.aspx?panel=kills&gameid=92825956&player=J%20as%20in%20Joe

there is no way anybody with a somewhat balanced team should get 34 kills on ivory tower. And I assure you that the team i was playing with was not bad. If this 10 year old was smarter he wouldn't have got as many kills to make it look less suspicious. The fact that the game took 12 minutes is further proof that cheating took place. Ivory tower is a fast map.

This whole standby thing is getting ridiculously out of hand.

There has got to be a better system for getting rid of these bastards. One of my friends got suspended for a month for swearing, and yet pathetic dweebs use standby constantly, it's getting really lame. which is worse: someone lets a couple curse words fly when he gets blown up in a close game OR someone who cheats the system, screwing over hundred(s) of players who PAY for Live service, just so the number next to their name is a little higher. I don't even know why I made this thread. Maybe to serve as an outlet for those of us legit players who constantly get screwed over by ******* cheaters.

Dude, if all of us posted cheaters and asked people to **** with them, those would be the only threads in this forum. **** happens, its a game, you got shafted, nothing you can do but leave feedback!

:( Don't mean to be an ass, but this is the way it is.

I have luckly never played against anyone who has used Standby but I have played against alot of people who used the dummy glitch. Why don't these people get a life, it's just a game.

i just made a post in the xbox live forum kind of about what i'm thinking on standby cheaters lately. i don't want to totally copy what i said before, but to you guys- does it seem like a majority of the people who use standby sound really young? like 12-14? everytime it happens i get pissed off, start cursing and yelling, and i hear these little ***s giggle in these squeaky voices.

i never really noticed the cheating that everyone complained about until i hit level 15 and 16 in team slayer this month, now it seems to happen 2 or 3 times everytime i play...how lame...

i'm getting a lot better and starting to have more fun with this game, but at the same time the amount of people cheating seems to increase with your ranking...

I got accused of stand the other night and it still pisses me off. I had a bad connection. Sometimes it happens, but not too frequently. I was the only one with a bad connection.
Zanzibar, capture the flag - fast. The game goes on for awhile, I see that there's a big battle taking place outside the base. We're on offense. I run up the right side through the broken wall, jump down grab the flag and run out the right door. (left door if you're leaving.)
I meleed someone in the back in the doorway with the flag. He's dead.
I meleed a guy running in front of me. He's dead.
I meleed someone who passes in front of me, completely ignoring me. He's dead.
I was getting shot from the back, I turned around and meleed him with the flag. He's dead.
I throw the flag away because I have no shields, make a lazy loop to the right come back and mow someone down with the shotgun I had. He's dead.
Shields up I get back to the flag, nobody touched it, I shotgunned someone. He's dead. Killing spree.
I get the flag and run it through the windmill, dropped it shotgunned someone. Dead.
Grab the flag and keep running. Melee the next guy. Dead.
Throw the flag away because my shields are down. Someone on my team takes it.
I come back up from behind and melee someone with the shotgun then shoot him dead.
Flag carrier dies. I grab the flag and run it out the main gate and turn right.
Now I'm throwing it and picking it up and throwing it to gain speed.
I make the point, game over.
Everyone is screaming.. stand by cheater! Stand by! You stand by! I'm reporting you. It was bunch of people on the other team. Then some guy is talking about reporting me.
I didn't stand by. Sometimes my connection gets slow and it catches back up. It happens to everyone. No one has a perfect connection with so many variables that effect it.
If you're going to accuse someone, at least know how it happens and recognize cheating. Don't just report people because you're a poor sport or you think someone cheated but you don't know.

Have you noticed that most people playing Halo 2 on Live are 12-14 years old. People get blown away when I tell them I'm a college freshman.

I never talk about myself when I play. Sometimes I get asked and I tell them, I'm a 29 year old military guy and people are like.. dude, you're old.

that sucks, man. i've had a team accuse mine of cheating before...it was on colossus and we were down by like 7, but then we got it together and took the game. in the lobby afterwards, they were like "hmm it's kind of convenient that you guys started winning when our connection began to lag. PLAY THE GAME IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYED!!!1 WE'RE REPORTING YOU." and then they left  .

do they even know what standby is? it's not my fault they had a bad connection, i'm not outside their house in their bushes tampering with their cable wires, the whole time giggling to myself. sheesh.

p.s. sounds like you had an awesome game, reclaimer! high-5

how does not talking make someone wise? i'm not saying it makes them stupid, i just don't understand the logic in what you're talking about...

reclaimer could talk about who he is, but what good is it going to do? he'll (and i dealt with it, too) just hear the same crap from 97% of the people. it's not like a relationship is going to be formed between players in one game, so it's kind of useless to do. if they enjoy playing and decide to add each other to the friends list, then in the course of time, maybe they get to know each other a bit.

in my experience, people who are willing to just tell you any and everything about themselves immediately either desperately are searching for attention and recognition, or they're lying...probably for attention and recognition. in the end, it's just wiser to guard yourself than to just throw everything out there. maybe the situation reclaimer is talking about is a somewhat insignificant example of not giving out too much, but it's a smart line to take. don't "cast your pearls before swine"...

yeah i kind of see what you mean. i love it when you're playing slayer and people feel the need to announce that they got a double kill.
