I need to know if you have any info on this. My situation is frustating. :bang: I'm at a college that has blocked almost every port other than regular internet. I'm forced to play with just the people on my dorm lan, which is alright, but I REALLY want to play on Live. I want to be able to see how good I am against some of you guys and some of the better players on Live. I want to be able to by the headset and communicate with my teamates. I want to be able to absolutely kick someones ass when he's halfway around the world. Can anyone help me with advice on this, exluded modding my xbox or comp? PLEASE HELP!! :hail:

I don't have specific knowledge of getting through on a campus network. I know that some campuses outright put a block on playing on Live, some allow it, and some you just have to ask.
Seems to me that you would have to contact a network administrator. Bring beer, porn and possibly weed.
You're going to have to manually go into your network settings and input all the appropriate information. So, you'll need to know like the DNS addresses, subnet masks and all that.
Basically, look at your network tab on your Xbox dashboard, seek the manual settings and ask what each of those are.
You won't have to mod anything to do this. However, if your campus outright prohibits their network to be used with Live, you're out of luck.

I have already manually put all those settings into my xbox. My friend did it at his college and it worked and he told me how to do it. Now, do I have to connect it to my computer through a crossover cable? Has anyone else had this problems and solved it?

If you bypass their firewall, prepare for the consequences. As it's there for your security, as well as the IT staffs and the colleges, don't be surprised if you face expulsion for that. I'd contact your IT dept. there and see what they say.
I'm not joking about being expelled either, as I had my hands in 3 kids getting booted from the Community College I used to work at. I firewalled IRC and Kazaa, and they went around it. I was notified immediately that there were kids in the computer lab downloading at crazy rates, went up there and caught them red-handed and red-faced - they weren't too happy being that I was the same age as them, but it was my job.

Ah... you must remember that I have to sleep every now and then. :p
OK, so you read Casper's post and your willing to continue with your endeavor.
Once you put in all your information into the Xbox network settings, all you need to do is hook your xbox straight to the system. Take the ethernet cable from the wall and plug it in. Just like you would your computer.
Of course there might be consequences, so don't say we didn't warn you.

I already put in all the settings manually. It doesn't work. I think its because of my firewall. Any tips?

I think at this point you should contact your school's IT people for access beyond the scope of their firewall.
If they have their network locked down, there's nothing I can do to help you with that. Plus I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to circumvent your school's policies.. if they had one.
