some games are just like that.. You can always enter the HR derbet and practice your swing. Also, take your time at bat. you dont have to swing at everything. take the strike and raise the pitchers pitch count. Also guessing the pitch location wouldnt hurt either.

It's really going to come with experience. The more you play the better you'll get. I wouldn't rely to much on the hitter's eye... but you can really watch the pitch come in and get a feel for where the ball is going to come in at. Just be sure to keep your analog in the direction of the pitch... steer clear of low and inside pitches... and try and pull the ball away from your batter.

It will come with time... just have patience.

Yeah, play pro until you get the knack of things. Its even harder on MVP difficulty. But fun as hell. NO 20-2 blowouts in this game. I love the 1-0, 3-1, 5-2 ballgames, and the batting averages for most of the players are realistic. On the MVP difficulty that is. Its all about timing mostly and seeing the pitch.

I was about 2-0 online until I actually played good people who practiced... Im about 2-6 (just starting to get into the game) now but have lost games by 1-0 or 2-0 frequently. I also need some hitting advice. Having not played a baseball game since '97, this is loads different then say MLB featuring Ken Griffey Jr for N64. I've pretty much nailed the pitching down...maybe work on the pitch count....but I can't seem to get the hitting mechanics..can anyone care to explain? I've just starting learning to work the count and holding swings. If I improve on the defensive aspects of the game and also the stealing I imagine I'd do pretty well...any advice?

The 1-0, 2-0 games will happen often. More often than not. Why? Because its a great baseball game, unlike Homerun fest ESPN. If you are losing games by one run, in low scoring games then you are doing a great job. Just need to come up with 1 or 2 clutch hits. But if ya think 15-20 hit games should be expected, you better think again..LOL! Just keep rolling with it, and the hits will come.

Learn how to guess the pitches in different situations. For instance, if the pitcher has you 1-2 look for something off speed and out of the strike zone. If you have them 3-1, you're gonna get something to smash. Look at a few pitches also to get your timing down. Good luck.
