Alright, if someone's already doing this I apologize but I haven't seen it. I came up with this game last night and it got some pretty rave reviews (we played it 3 times and it takes a while). Here's the rules:

Name: Advance

Gametype: Territories

Map: Headlong. (Preferably, haven't tried but conceivably Waterworks could be very good too).

Players: 14-16 (It needs a lot of players to really work).

Territory count: 7 (however we played one game with 5 and that was more tense).

Contest time: 10 seconds

Control time: 15 seconds

Time to win: 30 minutes

Weapons: BR & SMG start

Weapons on Map: Human

Shields: Normal

Motion Detector: Off

Leave everything else default.

The game takes a while and gets really tactical. Plus, with the number of territories, and the large amount of time needed, even if you fall behind you can catch up. We were behind over 10 minutes at one point and caught up to win. With the size of the map it really creates a strong chain of attack/defend/advance and all points in between. We played with all vehicles. Try it out. The long control times are necessary to make it a real fight to take out a territory. It's not swoop in and take it, you need to assess the target, thin the herd and move carefully. I was thinking of making the control times longer. Play with it and let's see if we can come up with some optimum settings.

I'd love to try this, but getting that many people without Tards is usualy the problem like anything else.

i played a terrirtories game on headlong once with a full party, but with three territories.
it was prety hectic.

If you want to make it more hectic, then try it on a smaller map.

For sure, but this game isn't about being hectic. It's about calculated and tactical advance and control of targets. Hence the super long time limit.

About how long do these games last exactly?

Well, they usually last about 20 minutes if the teams are reasonable. I wish there an option for more time as originally I had planned to make it 1 hour, but there's no option for that. But to be blunt, I only played 3 games. I see a lot of room for modifying the game to make it harder/more tactical. I will post revisions as I go along.

If anyone feels like doing a playtest post up here and we'll come up with a mutually agreeable time. Maybe we can get 16 people and tweak as we play to make it ideal.

Well it looks like we almost have enough just off this forum. I'll be doing it on saturday night when I get home from being a drunken fool. Which will of course lead to me being a drunken fool online. I'll toss out a bunch of invites.

That's totally what happened last night. TOTTEN joined my party and we tried to get it going, but frankly, there was one irritating little ***** that wouldn't shut up. I think a lot of people quit to not have to listen to him.
