How much for the maps? [Archive]

Ok, I know the retail disc will be 20$, but I can't find the price point for simply downloading the levels, excluding, of course, the initial free offerings.

I also have a question, ok we get 2 free maps right off the bat and we have to pay for the other two. Now are we going to have to buy a disc to get those 2 maps or just download them? If we just have to download them how would we pay bungie?

No, it will be downloadable. The fee will just be added onto your LIVE account and then you pay ti that way with your CC. The Disc is for people that don't have LIVE, or don't want to download em for whatever reason, or for collectors like me.

I think its 4.99 for the 2 other maps, and then the rest of the maps are somwhere around 11 dollars.

So the total will be 16 dollars? When the price of the disc at retail is 20, that doesn't seem like a good deal. I guess I just have to decide if whatever they're packing in would be worth the extra four bones. I wonder if new copies of Halo 2 will have the new maps.

yeah, i doubt they will put it on the new games.. because they want more money... hell i want more money :(

The 2 maps initially for premium download will be 3$ a piece, then the next 5 premium maps will be 12$. The disc comes with all 9 maps and some bonus stuff for 20$.

The disc is the same price as if you were going to download them and pay the fee from day 1 on each pack. I'm waiting for the disc just so I can have something tangable.

one big question.. my xbox is slowly dying.. i may have to buy a new one soon or format this one.. if i pay for the 2 download ones and more.. and my XBOX dies or im forced to wipe it.. do I have to pay for them AGAIN?

^Probably Whisper. I suggest just getting the expansion pack on June 28th. Then you don't have to worry about installing the maps on multiple Xboxs.

I'm not 100% sure, but I asked this to my xbox rep before and he believe it flags your account, so that incase that does happen, you can call xbox and get the credit once you download them again or something like that.

So there's going to be like two months from the time you can purchase the first two maps online until you can buy them at the store. So they want me to shell out cash for them cause they know I won't want to wait, and then try to get me to buy the retail so I can have them for posterity's sake. Why those sneaky...

Yup, and alot of people will do the same thing :) I'm just waiting for the disc, I'm patient.

Yea, I'm just going to download all of the maps, because I'm going to want the first two purchasable maps right when they come out, and if I got the disc, I'd be paying $8 extra for bonus content which I don't really care about too much.
