So I got Jade Empire

Yes I got Jade Empire today at EB games. They only released the Limited Edition of it a day earlier so if you want the normal copy you will have to wait until tommorow. Great game. Like KoTOR except with new features and Real Time Combat. In the Limited Edition you get a Bonus Disk which includes a Making of Video, Demos for Forza and Mech Assualt 2. If you get the LE put in the Bonus Disk first in order to download Monk Zeng and the bonus fighting style. Since the game disk is the same as the one you get in the normal copy. If you like RPGs this is a must have.

My stores here arn't carrying the regular edition, but it's the same price for the LE, so why you'ld want the regular is beyond me.

Ok so I've been playing it for a while now and here's my 2 cents before I go draft up a real review. HOLY ****ING CRAP THIS GAME ****ING OWNZ. Seriously, Knights of the Old what? The combat system is great. Lots of fun. It's paced like turn based but you have control (which is really simple, which is great, because frankly, it's an RPG first).

I can't say enough good things. Brilliant voice acting, more subtle good/evil, tons of moves, no tedious item management. Get it. Now.

I love the dirty disc errors I'm getting. Seriously, first Splinter Cell, then Doom 3, now Jade Empire. I've gotten three new games in the past three weeks, and I haven't been able to enjoy any of them because of these DDEs. It really takes away my motivation to play.

Got it a few days ago and love it. I'm using Sum Fat Ho (I forget what her real name is) but I decided to go with the thousand hand style. Im not even passed Chapter 1 yet but I keep getting whooped by these ghostly dudes (near Imperial City). I think I did a Harmonic combo earlier (cause it made the enemy go splat) but what is the best way to do those?

Studepaber, read up on each of your styles. They will say something like

"will initiate a harmonic combo" or

"will complete a harmonic combo"

So the power attack of the ice magic will start a combo, and the power attack from the Thousand Cuts martial style will complete one. So freeze the guy in a block of ice, then get up to him and hit him with a Thousand Cuts power attack, and splat he goes. Every power is different, so some area effect powers can start combos, and some quick attacks finish them. You will have to read up on your powers to find out what works for you.

I am in the Imperial City right now. I layed the smackdown on the Black Leopard School and now I am heading off for the next bit now.

Personally I don't use magic that much. I use Furious Ming and I prefer fast melee attacks and long swords. I just uses chi for healing and the increased power.
