Has anyone heard if there will be an ESPN 2K6? Or did EA blow everyone out of the water with there license agreement. I have searched the www but have not found anything.
There will not be an ESPN Football 2k6. Only a Madden 2006.

So ESPN isn't even going to try it without NFL player or team names? They should atleast give it a shot, and allow people to input names themselves. Ah well.....
Oh i dunno about that. I haven't heard anything about anything like that. but I guess that could work...

I think if they sell it for 30 dollars less than Madden again that it can still be successful.

Sega doesn't even own the sports games.. they sold them to take2
Atleast that's what I remember reading back when all that stuff was going on. Maybe someone knowns where the article is. Just like Microsoft selling some of their sports titles to Ubi Soft (stupid move for Ubi if you ask me).

I wouldnt even spend $10 on a generic football game. Who wants to play NFL football without the players, logo's or team names.....BAH! If Take 2 thought about putting out a piece of crap like that, then i would lose alot of all respect for their business sense.
Madden will be the only way to go this year and probably for many years to come.

EA bought the rights to the ESPN license as well as the NFL license. Take 2 cannot make an NFL game....BUT, I think this all takes affect next year, so Take 2 may still release a game this year. Not sure though.

Well they can't tell take2 that they can't make a football game at all. The 2k series had a growing following. So I think if they make the stats accurate for the teams, and allow for people to input team and player names that it could still be successful with the 20 dollar price tag. Whats that program that could do it? Action replay or sumthin like that?

Yeah but what will they use as teams or players? It would be a complete waste of money.

they should just make there college game better

Oh dont even mention Take 2 and college football in the same sentence..LOL! Sega's venture into the college world was a complete disaster. That game was, utterly, well I dont think there is a word that can describe it. Horrible is too kind of a word.
EA has that genre locked up with the NCAA series. There is absolutely no way Take 2 could compete at all. NCAA is the best all around football game out there in my opinion. Better than any of the NFL titles in recent years.
But back to the NFL thing with Take 2. As Matt said, it would be a complete waste of money for the developer AND the comsumers to put out a generic football game. I dont care if it cost $9.99, it would be just plain stupid.

not to me. i played 15 seasons with 2k5. after 4 or 5 my team was almost completely people i drafted. if the game rocks, they could name everyone jones and i'd still play it. i played madden 05 and hated it. and with my ongoing boycott of ea games, i'll have to hope they bring something out or i'll be playing 2k5 for 5 more years.

Even without the actual football team logo's, stadiums, citys, mascots, etc...? No way, not for me.... I love playing seasons on top of season, drafting in the new young stars til there is nothing left of my original team, but a few. But I am still playing with my favorite NFL team. It just wouldnt be the same playing with say, the Philadephia Red Tail Hawks, or the Tennessee Gods, or the Tampa Bay Pirates, etc....
Nah, not for me, and I am sure its not for many NFL fans either. It would be the XFL on steroids...LOL! And we all know what happened to the XFL..LOL!

EA done fu** up with thier so call deal. I think if sega or whoever else dont bring out another football game, then i will do what i always do. Play my old games, nfl fever 2004, nfl2k5 and nfl2k3 and nfl blitz 2001 dreamcast, so i'm str.
I wouldnt mind playing a football game with fake players or you know where we can make our own team and players.
