How long will the current xbox live stay up until the 360 live takes over?? i don't think i will be able to get it right off the back.. but would like to stay with the regular live for a while.. will this get overrun or what.. any input is welcome.. thanks

i highly doubt the usage of LIVE getting overruned... also the 360 comes out in like a year i believe... so its up to you if you want to get a 3 month subscription or 12....

Your Xbox live account rolls over and works on the Xbox360 also.

and you will have the option for a lesser, free xbl account on the 360.

which is good

So with the free xbl do u just have to buy like a starter kit thing and boom you have xbl. Also whats the diffrence between the Gold and Silver one (the only thing I know is that silver is the free one)?

That can be for any hundreds of reasons. It can be your connection, it can be the time of day,it can be the host connection to the game you're playing or someone in the group you're in with a bad connection all together.
With my connection of 5megs down and 384K up, I still hit lag sometimes.
Some games are worse than others, some situations are worse than others.

It's hard to pinpoint sometimes.

Anyway, if you're a paid Live subscriber now, you'll get rolled into the legacy membership.. the top end one.

If you're not by the time the 360 comes about, you'll have the option of getting the stripped down version which I think is free, or you can pay for the higher privledge membership.
Don't worry, if anything Microsoft knows the value of XBL and they'll make sure the networks can handle XBL for both the standard Xbox and the 360.

the xbox 360 on the first day on XBL is gonna have server and lag issues due to the vast amount of people going to have their xbox 360 the day it comes out plus most of the people xbl are going to get it so we can expect lag and server issues for a month or two or until microsoft fixes it.

The Silver allows all features accesible for free the only thing it doesn't let you do is play online games like halo3 and all that fun stuff

The Gold allows all features accesible for a yearly fifty dollar cost it includes: A gamercard (find more about this at xbox.com) online game playing, access to everything at the market place. You pretty much have access to everything.

You don't have to buy the starter kit unless you want to pay for gold Silver is free and i don't think you need to buy anything for it.
