I'm a newbie so 'scuse my ignorance on xbox matters but I'm bidding on one on eBay atm and have noticed that the seller has referred to it as version 1.6. Can anyone tell me the significance of the version number on the console as I thought that the xbox was the xbox and didn't realise they had different versions (aside from the 360 that's coming out soon obviously)?

I'm worried now as I'm wondering if that was a particularly rubbish version although they say it's only 6 months old so maybe it's the current version? Anyway if someone can please let me know asap as I'm the current high bidder and the auction ends in a few hours

Well there are different version in that they may have different more efficient components than older Xboxes. It's still an Xbox but may have a Samsung drive over the old Thompson.
