Probably 10-20'. I haven't been able to find any info about cord lengths myself...I've been worried about how long the component video cable will be, but not too worried, since there's little doubt I'll have to extend it anyway :crying:

I detest proprietary cabling. I'd MUCH rather buy all new, longer cables :cuss:

I think it'll probably be only 5 ft... Micro$oft is cheap....

It looked fairly short when the contents of the box were displayed. I'd say maybe 7'.

Obviously you've never bought any of their networking products they used to sell.

Or Windows ME for that matter ;)

Don't count on it being anywhere near 25' though. The only reason to really provide the cable is for users who'se modems or routers are right near their 360, as a sort of courtesy. Anything else and people will need anywhere from 20-200' of cable, there's not way to please everyone.

I think you could safely say it's going to be 15 feet. Which is 5 feet short for me.. but I don't mind, already had to buy one for the original.

15 sounds right. Useless to me though because i need a 100 footer. They are cheap anyways, 50 feet is like 10 bucks here.

If you crimp your own it's basically free. I seem to accumulate bulk cable faster than I use it up /shrug

Not to mention that you can run *anything* down the magic of twisted pair. I have USB, Stereo Audio (the audio goes down STP), and DVI (which requires 2 cables) running to a second KVM console in another room :)

as long as its over 15 ft im fine, if its less than that, its a worthless cord, because i know most people dont have routers that close to the xbox

My router's in a different room, but I'm really reluctant to shell out for the wireless network adapter. Thing is, the router is just on the other side of the wall that my TV (and subsequently the 360) is up against, so I'm really considering punching a little hole in the wall and just feeding a 15' cable through for the connection.

I dont see the reason to pay $100 plus on a stupid Network adapter. Just buy 100 dollars + worth of cable!!! It makes sense..... (maybe :D)

Micro$oft being cheap...probably 6 inches. Does just Cat5 ethernets work...so you dont have to buy a dfferent one? O well... I'd like 200 foot one so i could run me friends DSL which is slightly better than mine...or Ill get a Wireless adapter and........daare i say it...st-...eal it!!! (*SHUDDER*)

Or... instead of 100 dollars of cables, just buy a 100dollar wireless adapter?

or I can pay a friend 10 bucks or less to make an ethernet cord that is 300 ft. long.

Well, the XBOX needs a crossover cable. I bought an RJ-45 and it didn't work.. only a crossover would.. but I wasn't going to router, im direct to NIC card.

Well, hopefully, the cable set-up I was using for my Xbox will work. I have two 25' CAT-6 cables connected together via a F-to-F coupler because my hometheatre system, which the Xbox was (and X360 will be) connected to is at the very front of the flat, and the router, being in my room, is near the back of the flat. I never had any problems w/ the Xbox, so I (hopefully) don't forsee any problems w/ the X360 being connected the same way. Of course, since I am using CAT-6 cables instead of CAT-5 or CAT-5e, that could possibly be the reason why.
