Ok, here's the thought...

The purpose of this thread is to discuss various gametypes from the "Team Hardcore" playlist. Feel free to post your thoughts on the different gametypes including, likes and dislikes, strategies you find effective, links to games where you owned hard/got owned hard/played someone "famous", and just you general feelings about the playlist.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD ASK IS PLEASE DO NOT FLAME PEOPLE OVER THEIR OPINIONS!

ex. Poster 1: "I think team ball on midship rocks!"
Poster 2: "OMG, you suxxorz you can't like that game!"

IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO DISAGREE WITH SOMEONE PLEASE DO IT IN A CONSTRUCTIVE FASHION!

ex "A" - The right way

Poster 1: "I think a really good strategy on lockout is (insert strategy here)..."
Poster 2: "I don't think that is a good because if the other team does (insert counter-strategy here)..."

ex "B" - the WRONG way

Poster 1: "I think a really good strategy on lockout is (insert strategy here)..."
Poster 2: "OMG, you suxxors you freaking noob, how can you even think that, you suck at halo because (continue to flame and fail to make any mention of a counter-strategy whatsoever)..."

Ok, with that out of the way, here's some thoughts...

Gametype: Team Ball on Lockout

Overall game enjoyment: 9/10, I seriously get a kick out of this game. It's fast, and ball (which I used to hate) is remarkably fun without radar due to the whole stealth factor sans the snail pace of crouch walking. (Let's face it, crouching sucks when you're racing the clock).

Good Strategy: I found just using the "poop chute" (as Mrs.Clockwerk likes to call it) worked wonders. Over the edge, down the hole up the chute whatever, it's a fast route out. It's also pretty easy to keep an eye on where the enemy (and their grenades) are coming from. Oh yeah, if you're gonna die and alone, jump over the edge if you can and let you team know so they can run to the middle.

Bad Idea: Trying to run away when you don't really have anywhere to go. If you're trapped in a room with no exit, drop the ball and fight like a man, you never know, you might be a triple kill away from all but locking up the win.

Best moment thus far: Getting trapped in a room on the lower level (the one that leads down to the energy lift thingy). 3 of them charge me from 2 doors. One coming up from the lift, the other coming in the door from the ramp where the sword is. I back pedal towards the sniper tower and drop the ball, and the first 2 go for it, along with the plasma I just dropped on it. Double and the the third guy loses his shield in the blast leaving himself an easy headshot for the triple kill.

In my opinion for an oddball lockout strategy would be to bring the ball guy to br tower, if you have sniper, have the sniper move from top br to the sides watching, have one guy with combo in library window watching for anybody crossing from under glass to bottom br, and a 3rd guy running around mid br, library, just helping out. The ball guy can move anywhere from library to top br. I think more time can be accumulated this way, also helps if you contol sword as well. If you dont have sniper, you might want to go to sniper and try to hold down there. If you do have sniper and are keeping the oddball at sniper, have the sniper go to top lift and that way he can snipe anybody who is just rushing towards sniper from middle, and he can watch people attacking from elbow.

OMG! The rules you made up should be posted in the Halo 2 fourm under RULES AND GUIDELINES... we'd have so many less fights and arguments!!! You rock :hail:

I've played team hardcore, and I hate this game in foundation.... It's like SMGs and rockets.... It's really bad.... Th other team had two rockets, and a sword... We got n00bified.... :cuss: :cuss:

I got to a level 5 though :)

Honestly, I may have been drunk...uh, actually, I was for sure :D

All in all, I really enjoy the Team Slayer game modes the best...especially with BR start and no radar. I play 10 times better when there is no radar because I'm so used to not having it from the thousands upon thousands of games of Halo CE that I played without radar. To this day, having the motion sensor enabled is still foreign to me, so, Team Hardcore definately satisfies me in an enormous way.

As for the objective gametypes, I also enjoy them; however, it's almost vital to have 3 other friends to play the playlist because of this. Sometimes that is hard, but, I played with one friend today and we still did great :)

Team Hardcore is basically MLG settings. no radar, starting with a br, map default weapons, etc. this is good for practicing br skills, etc. hmm, i guess that's all i have to say :)
