Thank god. Windows has needed a standardized controller for way too long. Like 12 years.

This should make ports so much easier, in both directions, and increase the goodness of gaming for everyone.

Thank you Microsoft. And so-long entire divisions of other PC controller companies.

does it replace a computer mouse?

sadly no, it doesn't even give you software to configure the buttons for games. now i will have to configure cs source the hard way :( but it is really comfortable

*edit* just found out that you can use your xbox headsets for the pc too :)

Great news about the headset. Thanks for that bit.

Can't wait to get one for playing PES 5 on my PC. My team (East London) is 3-0 to start the season. Very hard to score goals this year round.

Haven't seen them here either. No matter though, i've always been dissapointed by gamepads for the PC, not because of the design and such, but because the games don't often handle them very well (non-analog keys don't translate to an analog controller very well).

I'm looking for one just to make sure I can get a second controller for my 360 when it arrives.

It's more the controllers than the games. I've been using my XBox and PS2 controllers on the PC for years now, and every game I fire up has support for analog controls. All the EA games, PES, X-2, etc.

And dozens of analog PC controllers are on the market, but you have to search for them and pay the price. Adapters for console controllers are the way to go.

That sucks that the wireless one does not work with the PC. That pisses me off as my gamepad, which I only just bought off ebay (new) a few weeks ago, is already ****ing up. This was my backup plan. :(
