Joanna Dark has more than just killer looks, she also has a killer instinct, and she has used the two to take the games industry by storm. Today, Xbox announced Perfect Dark Zero as the winner of the Game of the Show award at X05, the Xbox brand experience for the games and entertainment industry, held in Amsterdam at the beginning of October.

Perfect Dark Zero was awarded ‘Game of the Show’ with a huge majority, winning over 80% of the votes. The judges applauded Perfect Dark Zero’s “great single-player mode”, “good level design”, and “outstanding musical score”. One of the judges enthused, “For years we have wanted better quality co-op games, and finally Rare is making it happen on Xbox Live. What a perfect couple”.

The judging panel, comprising of 16 key gaming journalists from around Europe, were asked to vote for their favourites in four categories – Game of the Show award, Xbox 360 Technical Achievement award, Xbox 360 Innovation award and Best Xbox Game award.

Gears of War the tactical action, survival horror title from Epic Games was awarded the Xbox 360 Technical Achievement award. One judge said “Gears of War will lead players to the next generation of shooter-games”.

Kameo: Elements of Power, the long awaited mystical action-adventure game from renowned game developer Rare Ltd., scooped the Xbox 360 Innovation award. The game received high praise from the judges who admired Kameo: Elements of Power’s “variety of game-play”, “beautiful environments”, “great characters”, “spectacular effects”, and “high quality animation”. One judge said “Kameo: Elements of Power will satisfy hardcore-gamers as well as the casual gamers, it’s a game for everyone!” Another compared the title to a classic Zelda adventure, “only a hundred times more beautiful – and that can’t be a bad thing!”

The Best Xbox Game award was presented to Black from Electronic Arts.
Judges described Black as “the best shooter for the Xbox console with over-the-top action and amazing graphics and effects”.

Third party titles such as King Kong from Ubisoft, Call of Duty 2 from Activision, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion from Take Two and NBA from Electronic Arts all received outstanding praise from the judges. Chris Lewis, Regional Vice President, EMEA - Home and Entertainment Division said “We are extremely privileged to be working with some of the best third party publishers in the industry. X05 was a great platform for us to showcase not only exclusive titles, but also some of the world’s best-loved franchise titles coming soon on the Xbox 360.”
