I know I'm going to be a numpty for this one, but when you guys first checked your Hard-drive space, was it like 12GB? Were there really 8GB of crap on there right out of the box? I'm looking at all the crap on there and it doesn't look like 8GB...OMG!

I haven't looked myself, but, I read in several places where people were confused about the same thing.

I deleted all the crap off my hard drive and there is still only 14gb left! What the hell? 6gb of data is still being wasted.

It's not wasted. It's saved for the developers. The hard drive is partitioned. I don't know the exact numbers, but one partition is for you to store your music, saves, downloads, etc on, the other is for whatever game you have in the system to extract game data onto. That's how some of the better designed titles keep their load times so short.

It's used for "system's use"

If you go into memory, highlight the HDD and click Y, it will tell you that. Now if it really is.. i don't know. :)
