I very much doubt that makes a difference. The power supply vents through the 2 sides where the cables come out. Those ridges along the length of it are not vents.

You don't have to hang it though. My friend brought up an interesting technique (his is melting his games), he just propped it up on a 45 degree angle against the wall so there is alot of air circulating around it.

That may be making it worse. Propping it at that angle means the fan holes have less clearance.
The best thing you can to do cool it off is get air running over it lengthwise, in the direction of from the power input, to the output to the xbox where the light is. This will assist the built in fan.

Did you actually see it melting games :watchout:
I cant see how it would be melting games... that a hazard.... it needs to be over 65 degres (c) to melt.... (I will get the exact temp)

....I can't wait until a mod gets a hold of this thread and rips these damn posts apart haha. Chill out Jags, you're much to quick to anger.
Btw Xbox-Freakkid...I was completely skeptical as well....he described it as "melting" and later explained that it was simply screwing up the center of his disc...and it was getting cracked/warped.
