i think you can buy like game demos, and maps, and stuff like that.....but im not sure, i don't have a 360

I'm quite confused by it because apparently you can earn points to spend by unlocking and achieving stuff in certain games....but I can't distinguish between gamer points and money points...things

you can buy microsoft points in stores or online and use them to buy pictures for your profile and stuff

Actually the market place is for downloading Movies, demos, trailers, music, new themes (backgrounds for your dashboard) gamer pictures (you can buy one or take a picture of yourself or something with the camera that comes out in march next year)and the achievements do not count as points to use at the marketplace, though you can earn and buy points directly from the marketplace or buy a card from your local gaming store to redeem as microsoft points, though the points that are earned via contests tournaments and such are expireable (meaning you have to use them in a set time or they will expire) the ones that you buy on the other hand do not expire. Achievements don't mean much of anything really, it only shows how much things you have unlocked in certain games. Also you can download new arcade classics via xbox live marketplace.
