Halo 2 Multiplayer Pack?

I hate to make a new thread just to ask a simple question but I guess that I have no choice since the chat room has vanished; My doubt is:

Can you play Halo 2 multiplayer by just using the MP disc?

Do you NEED the game to use the pack?
Cuz my brother sold his SE Halo2 and now he regrets it, so do I, and if buying the multi pack would be all it is needed to play multiplayer and online it would be excellent, none of us liked the story mode so all we need is to be able to play against each other and other people on Live.

Nope sorry man. You need the Halo 2 disk :( The Multiplayer pack is like an expansion.

Halo 2 is down to $30 now, not bad just $10 more than the expansion, I suggest going to eb games or blockbuster and buy it used it should be a good price
