Oh the good ol days.

Back when I started (even before I joined and started posting) this sight was teaming with people. My post count shot up fast just by all the heated talks we did with Ninja Scroll and Max and many of the others. Everyday I logged on to find something going on to talk about and really get people laughing or pissed. Man do I miss those times. Not just here but anywhere.

If anything, I think the 360 has created more talk...too bad most of the threads have to do with "when is the 360 going to be available" :(

this place just hasn't been the same since the split. at first people said that the lack of activity was due to that it was summer, that forum activity always slows a bit during the summer, and that in the fall members would start to be more active, and we'd get a bunch new members here due to the console launch, ect.

but i think this place is slowly dying. there's like what?...15 -20 members who post daily, and in multiple threads.
the off topic lounge was always the heart of xba since i've been here, and look at it now...how many really fun or interesting threads do you see? and most of them get just a few replies and then die off. and there's only about maybe 5 new threads there a day.

look at how little the games are actually talked about here. look at the game specific forums and how litle discussion there is in there.

there's still good things and interesting conversation at this site, but just nothing like it used to be.
and since the time xba started dying off, other new sites have come to be, and others have grown and improved, while XBA really has not as far as i can tell.

when people want reviews or game information, which site do you think they go to? what sites do you think come up first in a seacrh engine when someone goes to search for xbox 360 info? which xbox 360 forums look most appealing to a newcomer?

well, that's my opinion anyways...from what i can see.
right now there are 3 other members on this site besides myself, and i've seen only 2 of them post since i've been here.

I could really not care about how big the XBA is. I know the poeple here, and I like them (With an exception of XFK). I usually stay in the off topic, and rarely post anywhere else. I think Laughs, even though people say its spam, posts really entertaining crap. Useless to say the least, but really entertaining. There are loads of other good posters, but I will add them later, as I have to go to school.

Is the XBox 2 killing the XBox?

I just got my latest EGM in the mail today, and there isn't a single XBox or XBox 2 title in the top 10 sales chart!

I can only assume that this is because there are too few XBox 2's out to get titles off the shelves in high numbers, and there is no action on the XBox front at all, since it already seems forgotten by devs. I think this is a bad time for Microsoft. There should have been more overlap, some more A+ titles for the XBox, to tide people over until there is enough XBox 2's on shelves for everyone.

Anyway, it is the first time I've seen the top 10 sales list without a single XBox game. Sad.

Hmm. You know, with the publishing lag, they are probably listing sales from before Xmas. And everyone was waiting for the XBox 2 to hit, so no one was messing with XBox titles. That could explain it.

Still, it was a glaring absence.

I've registered and posted at XO a few times...I have to say that there is a bit more freedom of discussion there but I got to know some real cool folks here, including the dude above me:cool:

The debate forums here were quite entertaining and provided lots of energy and participation from XBA brethren; but some members were(and are)too immature to diplomatically disagree...

Lots of old members disagreed with Stephen's decision to eliminate the hard-core debate forums; there was an exodus to XO...some chose to be there and some chose to stay here...

Most of the cool cats left(justus, the covenant, dark enemy, cryogenic pyro, reclaimer, duke)and have started to trickle back with cameo appearances...we've also been blessed with some talented newer members such as shaded9, fatbox, fb gollum...

XBA is enticing because we really try to help each other out...Fatbox, Ford Mustang(sorry folks), and Sam-xba hooked me up with gmail invites...Soundscape is a posting librarian...T Howell helps to maintain the peace between the vets and the nujacks...

No, XBA hasnt been the same since Casper left to start XO but there are still some cool cats here to make this site the shiznit...
