so far all i have to say about this game is... I LOVE IT. the throwing/blocking/countering system is a little different than what it used to be but you get used to it. they made some pretty good improvements on the online play as well. xbl gamertag is leobreaker if you feel like playing.

I just picked this up today...I haven't even taken it out of the wrap yet. I plan on playing it after the Seahawks game tomorrow afternoon. I won't be playing on-line yet, though....I gotta get used to the new gameplay controls and play the story mode for a week or two first.

Tonight, I'm going to a New Years Eve party and can wait until tomorrow. You got me all pumped up for tomorrow, though!

ya it can be but it is a button masher so it can be easy i haven't played online yet so i think button mashing against another person will be a lil different

Im about to try it out online. So i shall give a review latas.

Jaw dropping. The game is fun for newbies, but a few practice hours and no button masher will get near you. The game can get insane on the hardest mode. The Computer actually does air juggles, garaunteed combos, and plays a really good ground game. After i saw some of ayane's insane combo's, and ryu hayabusa's, i immediatly wanted to go to practice mode to try and figure that out.

There's still that tomunobu sense of humor (kasumi, zack, and leifangs ending), while maintaining tomunobo's sense of "cool" intact (Tina, Hayabusa, and Hayate's ending....seriously wow).

I love how deep the fighting engine goes this time around. This game actually requires practice to play well, unlike the previous games. Its much faster paced, but the matches last longer because every move has been toned down a lot, damage wise.

All in all, i am VERY impressed with this title. Although its no halo 3, or the killer app that the 360 is still missing, this game will fighting fan busy for the next 6 months or even a year. The game is that deep.

Is it heavy on combos? I can't stand fighting games where you can memorize a sure-kill combo. Everything should be blockable or breakable.

Yeah, I've only played and beat 4 Career modes so far...I'm going to jump up to the theatre room and knock out a few more here pretty soon.

I about laughed my ass off when I saw Kasumi's ending...I almost felt a little more gay after watching it.....

Anyway, I have to get more used to the combos...it will take some time, but, I'll do it. :D

alot of the spartans hits are unblockable but she is a lil on the slow side.

I whole heartedly disagree with that notion. Combo's require skill. Best way to avoid a combo, is to avoid the first move of the chain. There are no sure kill combo's though, but a fighting game with no combo's just isnt fun. Even street fighter 2 had combo's.

That's cool. They make enough fighting games for us both to be happy.

I just remember the first Mortal Kombat. It was so well balanced, and anyone could pick it right up. It didn't require memorizing button chains to be decent. Heavy focus on blocking, avoidance, and counter-attacks.

I feel the same way. In the attempt to make fighting games better, they have made them worse. The closest thing i have found recently is the Virtua Fighter series. VF4 Evolution is quite balanced, I just wish blocking and countering were done better.

I never got into the Street Fighter games because there was too much focus on memorization, and very little balance.

Oh, well.

Leo...I'm not sure if you're on my friend's list yet, but, I know that I have turned down many invites in the past few weeks because I've been into the story (Career) modes for Need For Speed and for DOA4 lately.

I'm almost done with the Story Mode with DOA4...I figure I'll be ready sometime soon. Though, I will be traveling to Miami this Friday through this Sunday and then to Eastern Washington all of next week...just in time for the Seahawks Playoff game....I'll be ready not this weekend but next weekend...

Gamertag is SPARTAN VI, like always, since day 1.

Maxy, what did you do to your gamertag? It's not listed in your profile anymore. Did you change it? I'm pretty sure I still have your old one.

Remember the ol UC days? We had some wierd glitch where we couldn't hear each other. :p

For those of you who do have this game lets have a little discussion about the storyline...there are a lot of questions left hanging for me.

**SPOILERS**

Can someone explain to me Bayman's ending? Did he survive? Was DOATEC experimenting with him too?

And who is Kokoro and how is she tied to Helena?

Can someone explain to me Bayman's ending? Did he survive? Was DOATEC experimenting with him too? And who is Kokoro and how is she tied to Helena?

**SPOILERS**

It is possible that Bayman died. And no he wasnt experimented on as far as i know. he was the assassin who killed Fame Douglass former owner of DOATEC and Helenas father. And for some reason Victor Donavan (the man who wants control of DOATEC) wants him dead. Probably because he knows a lot. It wasnt an experiment it was more of an interrogation. As to whether he is dead or not is beyond me. Maybe but the name of his ending is "The Immortal".

Kokoro is an apprentice Geisha. A Geisha is someone who... works in a broffle. But just as an escort. No more than that. But she likes her Baji Quan so she wants to fight. As for her connection with Helena i don't know. Itagaki likes the story to be mysterious and such. It'll probably be explained in DOAX2 or DOA5.

**SPOILERS**

The way that Bayman's eyes and mouth glowed purple is kind of like Omega from DOA3...it would be awesome to see Bayman as the next boss character. Also, I believe that Donovan wants Bayman killed because it was he who hired Bayman to kill Fame Douglas and he needs to shut Bayman up.

Definitely, yes. I've only played a couple of fights on Live with Ninja Scroll... laggy as ****.

I don't like it. Just a button masher beatemup with 10 hit combos that knock 50+% of your life out. First combo wins. Story mode is even stupider than the first... BUT I WAS HERE FIRST. GIVE ME THE LETTUCE! FIGHT! .... for 10 seconds, then its over.

So far, the most un-entertaining game I have played on the 360.

Please don't let it be true that I'm the only one who sees the sheer idiocy in this game. Atleast I can jerk off to it. That will be worth the 10$ rental fee.

The great thing about DOA 4 is that it can be fun for a button masher, but if you know what you're doing you can easily whup on a masher. Makes it a great game to play with friends who aren't as versed in the game (as they can jump right into it and feel like they're actually pulling off some moves by accident), but if you want to get serious, it has a lot more. I invite anybody that thinks DOA 4 is purely a masher to jump onto Live and see what their record is after a few fights... I guarantee you it won't be pretty.

Anyhow, I found DOA4 to be the best game on the 360 yet. I've got over 15 hours into it and still have plenty to do.
