Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Delay:
We linked a story yesterday at Xboxic that broke the news of an update for the Xbox 360 dashboard. We received confirmation from Microsoft that the Xboxic information was indeed accurate and that an update was “imminent”. Unfortunately, that update was supposed to head to production today but a few minor issues pushed the target date back to Monday. There will also be a Call Of Duty 2 update hitting the following day, so next week should be a good one for Xbox 360 owners.

hotness!

this is supposed to fix a ton of bugs and issues w/ the 360 Live dashboard and all that, even let you download stuff in the background instead of waiting half an hour for your demo downloads and you can't do ****.

i'm hoping at some point they will update the ingame music player to have all the fuctionality of the stand alone, and put in some sort of letter browse for artist albums and songs.

I hear ppl saying it will open up the chat so that you can have more than one person in a room. That would own in FFXI.

Ok I just got the upgrade and nothing really changed that I can see on the dashboard. Also it doesn't let you download stuff in the background I don't know where you go that information from Brevity.

New download adds minor functionality to system's front-end interface.

"Xbox 360 users may notice a system interface update automatically downloading the next time they boot up their machines, but there's a good chance they won't notice the changes it makes. According to Microsoft, the system update includes tweaks to the Xbox Guide, the ability to delete a profile while leaving its saved games intact, and greater accuracy in displaying the last time a user was playing a game. As far as problems addressed, the update includes network configuration improvements for users in the Netherlands, and more details when it pops up an unreadable disk or region conflict error."

It also updated something in the software so it wont load the self booting kiosk demo disk that hackers have been messing around with. So i think in the end it was worth the download. Props to MS for doing there best to keep the system from being hacked :)
