...Certainly not an a-list game, but Football Manager 2006 will require an HDD unit to play the game in any form. No memory card allowed. We guess this goes against MS's claims that you will not need an HDD to play any game...

Granted this is not a A-list game in the US, but it is overseas. It is also confirmed that Final Fantasy XI will require a HD as well. This may be discerning to the people that only had the oppertunity to pickup the core unit.

Being a IT person myself, I believe that HD required games are going to be comming out more and more. I find it diserning that MS released a statement that people will not need a HD to play games. From a programming perspective, online games are really going to need to utilized a HD for some parts of the game. So if you want a fully functional xbox360 better buy that premium unit...

MS encouraged people fromt he beginning to get the premium unit as they stated SOME games may require a hard drive to play. But they wanted to make sure ALL the launch games did not fall into that category. No surprise at all here as it was expected.

IF I didn't have a hard Drive I would be running to the nearest store to get one. I don't want to miss out on all the cool games coming to the xbox360.

Ya missed this thread.

I for one hope like hell that game makers start to use the HDD more. I think only good could come of further use of it.

well its just like people having to upgrade their computers for the cool new games.
