I just got my 360 back from the repair center due to its lack of power and ablity to display images on my tv. I thought they would have fixed the problem but instead they just gave me a new one. At first I thought this was great brand new 360 with no problems...RIght? WRONG! I can play games on it just fine but for some odd reason it fails to connect to the LIve service I have called support and from there my problem has been forwarded to a microsoft team. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and has found an answer.

This curse typically happens to people that have less than 10 posts at XBA. It's a common issue.

I had problems connecting to "live" because I am an idiot. My system wouldn't pick up the DNS# and MAC address automatically so I had to put it in manually. Had to put in about 4 diiferent MAC address before I got the right one.

Nope not I, usually the problems with xbox 360's are isolated problems, meaning that there are only a few people that have a problem with their 360's and that there aren't alot of people with the same problem, I suggest either getting a new cable, calling your internet service provider, running a troubleshoot. Or just do what laughs did... though that might take forever lol

my original guess with knowing nothing else of your situation would be this:
your router / network card still has the old 360s mac address in its memory and is using that.. try to chage it in your router/network settings. if it's not the problem.. uninstall your router and re-do your network.

If you live in Canada, put the 360 in some snow. It helps to freeze the inside parts, and resets it for you. Hope it works :)

Hey peeps,
Thanks for all the input. I got a call today from microsoft support team. They said I was one of the very few and very rare people who when they did replace my 360 the one they replaced it with was in fact another faulty 360. :bang: They said the one they gave me was a unit that had the live service disabled inside it??????? THis seems to only be a problem with ones sent back from the repair center. Hope this helps anyone in the future as it has taken 3 weeks for the 360 team to figure it out. Good thing out of this is they're gonna give me a month free of live service and a new wireless controller. So I guess it wasnt too bad of a deal. But I sure I sure did miss my HALO 2 FIX!!!!!!!!!! This 32, soon to be 33 old schooler on mar 2 is outta!!
