I have the exact same problem. My modem, router, and adapter all appear to be functioning correctly, but only recently have I not been able to sign in to xbox live because "The DNS server could not be found". I checked settings an the DNS settings are all correct.
What is going on?

I to have had this problem in the past, before I got my wireless modem/router, I don't know completely what the problem is but I do know it's something to do with your modem. Usually when it cannot detect the DNS you can't get online on your comp either. So it's something to do with your modem, really that's all I can tell you sorry I don't know much about it, go to the support section on xbox.com and maybe they'll have an answer.

usually unplugging your modem and waiting a minutes then pluggint it back in will do the trick. If it is just your xbox though and you can get online on your computer then it has to do with your settings on your xbox. instead of having it detect the dns automatically you have to find out what it is and put it in the fields on the xbox. call 1800 4myxbox they can help you

I have had this problem every once and a while all i do is turn off the modem and router and let it sit for about 10 min. and start it up and boom it worked.

Thanks, problem has been off and on, and I find unplugging the modem and letting it sit a minute does the trick.

I use a wireless router, and have the same problem every now and then in regards to general internet use.
What I tend to do is either enter the IP address of the router in to the address bar, and configure / reset it from there, or physically restart the internet modem.
