Oblivion is making my Xbox go colour blind!!

Ok, what on earth is going on, i just invested loadsa cash in a 360 and Oblivion and it was working fine. then i leave the game paused for a while and the screen goes black and white, pictures still there but no colour. i guessed it must be the screensaver, but when i unpaused the game, nothing changed!!

I fixed the problem by trying a different scart on my TV but then paused it again and now it just randomly switches to black and white, even while im playing. the only cure so far is to turn it off for a bit but this 360 is brand new and i don't want to push it around, and its not a fail safe cure anyway. the wierdest thing is that when i eject the game the dash is still in black and white and even any other games i try to play!!

i hope thats true, do you seriously think i should let it wait? i can't game in black and white so if it doen't sort itself out ill have to exchange it! :rolleyes:

ok, its official, i tried it on a friends HD screen and its fine, and no, i haven't forgotten to switch the TV-HD switch at the back, but now the black and white hasn't stopped for ages unless using that HD screen. this leads me to belive that it is the lead thats faulty, but it worked fine yesterday!!

This may not be on the subject, but i didn't see the need to start another thread.

I know freezing was a common problem with Morrowind, so im not to worried about the occasional freeze on Oblivion. But does anybody elses game freeze up alot? My 360 tends to get really quite before it freezes...

My friends xbox360 is stuck on black and white in regular tv mode, he's really pissed. He also owns oblivian.

You are not alone, others are having this problem.

Im no expert but when your xbox gets real quiet check to see if the double fans in the back are still spinning, because if their not you might have to open it up unplug them and plug them back in.

usually it loads when it freezes so when it loads just wait it out for maybe 30 seconds if it still doesnt respond just restart.

mine always froze before i got the HDD and then it just stopped.
