Why is it when i go into a match i ALWAYS have a red bar and lose cause i get lagged so badly. What can i do to stop it?

I'm no internet genious, but your lag is most likely caused by your connection.

What connection do you have?

It's true...if you're modem has a pull starter on it, it may not be up to par.

ok seriosly dude im getting pissed. i was a level 23 and now down to a 19 in team slayer because of lag!!!!!!!! I have a modem with a USB port (the wire from that goes to comp) and a ethernet port which i use to connect xbox. That is why i dont need a router because with my modem i can be on the internet and xbox live at the same time. Do i need to get a new modem or a faster internet speed? or both? thanks.....

Ask your provider what kind of upload / download speeds your getting....then go to one of the many "Speed Test" sites.....check make sure your getting what your paying for.

Could also be that you are playing with hosts from countries far away from where you live or the host has a bad connection. Most probably be your connection though.

So do you think that its my internet connection that making my connection red or is it because of my modem? my modem allows me to be on the internet the same time im on Live with a USB cable to the comp and an extra ethernet port i use to hook up xbox live. I think the my computer and xbox are sharing the connection half and half so it makes my live slow and lag because i can be on the net and on live with one modem and no router?

My download speed : 954 kbps or 119.3 KB/sec.

My upload speed : 884 kbps or 110.5 KB/sec.

Is that good for xbox live, or is it low?? ( i cant even play team slayer anymore cause im sick of the lag)

Your speeds seem like an average DSL connection.. I have cable and it's more than twice as fast on my laptop using wireless.. I think it may be a little slow for a game like Halo2.. IMO
