that's all folks.

Not sure if there's anything in this beta that won't be available through the Vista CPP.
Wasn't open to Canadians anyway, no surprises there.

This is BS. For ONCE, I would love to see Microsuck do something for Canada.

These things usually aren't up to the companies involved. It has to do with the laws of the countries involved, and often even the states here. Vermont and Hawaii have some different trade regulations that make residents there inelligible for a lot of contests. Obviously, nobody there cares enough to elect people that make this part of their platform.

When you rage against Microsoft, you are probably misplacing your blame. Maybe not in all cases, but I bet with the XBL Cards there was nothing they could do. I suppose they could create a new department in Canada and have a separate promotion just for you guys, but that could get confusing.

That's what they've done. Problem is, said department is more than a little useless.

There's far more Xbox events in Japan than in Canada. It's probably because they already have a strong market share here, and feel that the hype carries over nicely from the US. But it wouldn't hurt to at least put a little effort into not excluding us. The contests I can understand. And obviously, given our population, we can't expect the same number of them as the US. That's why I tolerated it until now. This beta thing felt more like them spitting in Canada's face than an attempt to avoid legal conflict.

That seems rather harsh. I don't get why they would do that, from a business perspective, unless it meant fewer aggravations from a legal standpoint. Perhaps they are just trying to keep the French Canadians out, which I totally understand. :D

Ha, possible. I is a little harsh I guess, but despite what they spout in kindergarden, nice rarely works. :)

I just hope this beta doesn't include any specific downloads from the Xbox 360 itself, since Beta 2 of Vista already includes media center, maybe I don't need into this specific beta test. Can always hope. I plan to install Vista as a dual boot as soon as I finish some spring cleaning on my scratch drives.
