Bill Gates' statement at E3 2005 that Halo 3 will launch on the day of the Playstation 3 has been confirmed as false...

Personaly I agree that if such an action would get in the way of Halo 3 being a great game don't do it. However, if the game is finished before the launch of the PS3 I doubt many people would be against releasing it on that date, except perhaps Sony.

Think about it. Millions of people lining up in stores all across the world, not to buy a Playstation 3, but to purchase the final chapter in the Halo trilogy. A single game challenging a console.

yes... if they have to rush it or bring it out earlier then they would then dont do it but itf its complete by ps3 launch (doubtful) then go ahead.

bungie wont rush to make MS happy. PS3 = 2006. Halo 3 = 2007

Halo 2 was rushed and it's smart to not rush Halo 3, I think it will be a much better game if it isn't rushed so much.

It goes without saying that the PS3 will be out this year and Halo 3 next year. I don't want Halo3 no sooner than when it's ready. I wouldn't care if it's 2008.

It would be cool to see this game go against the PS3, but not at the expence of lesser gameplay. Hopefully when Halo 3 comes out it will be everything it's expected to be, and then some.

I think it should go up against the PS3--if there's one game that can attack PS3's weak point for massive damage, it's Halo 3.

I would imagine the smartest time of release would be prior to the release of the movie.

In my opinion, the movie will do just fine regardless of when the game comes out. Halo is as much to pop culture as anything.

I just hope Bungie screws up Halo 3 and it actually ends up being a kick ass game like Halo CE.
