Oblivion trouble saving

Hello. I'm cant save anymore games. I have about 260 save games but I still have 12gigs free. Every time I go to save the picture on the right goes blank and it tells me that I have successfully saved the game. When I go back its not there. Anyone have any ideas?

Also this is the only game i have so I cant test it with anything else.

Its possible that the game cant have over 260 saves... That's a lot of save games. May I ask why you have so many? What I do is have three saves and then leave the auto-save slot open. You can deleat saves you dont need anymore.

I have 300+ saves (I started out with one and just got all mixed up so now i have 300+ saves) delete some I guess... I dunno...

i think what he means is that he's oversaved the same file more than 260 times...if not, then delete some...
