Although a lot of gamers loathe this game, it still has a place in my heart. Well, I really enjoyed Dino Crisis 1 and 2 on the PlayStation and I was stunned when all the reviews towards part 3 were so negative and ill-recieved at the time.
One could not blame people for not liking Dino Crisis 3, as space-themed adventures are almost always doomed to failure from the get go. But dinosaurs in space is kinda intriguing to me. Who knows? Maybe dinosaurs really did come from outer space.
The original Dino Crisis has a Resident Evil feel to it, while part 2 and Dino Stalker incorporated more action and therefore, disappointed some people. Dino Crisis had an even balance of action and puzzle solving, so it got full marks from myself.
Dino Crisis 3 is actually annoying to me, because you have to jump from platform and platform shooting dinos and should you miss, you have to go all the way back up. The overall scenary is boring and it doesn't compare to running through the jungle, observing the lush environment and open space that distracts you from the action itself.
Dino Crisis 3 is $5 sales bin trash, but I must say, I'd really like the series to continue. Regina has to find a way to rescue Pola and Dylan Morton. Dino Crisis was a freakin' awesome game and the low-rate sequels should not damage the series' image at all. I'd really like Shinji Mikami to take control again. He made the Resident Evil series as popular as they are, and he should leave the gate open for Dino Crisis 4 in my opinion.
