Well, i have just played two games with it and i was floored by the gameplay, and the level of detail. First and foremost, let me tell you about the little things i really miss about 2ksports, before i get into the gameplay. While i was about to shoot free throws with Wade, i noticed that the crowd is alive. And i mean really alive, i saw fans leaving and coming to their seats, and i just started laughing, and that was always the selling point about 2ksports games. The press row is organic, just like the crowd and the bench players arent in low rez anymore. It was amazing looking at the game besides playing it. Hell, i didnt notice i had stolen the ball until the flow of the games camera was going the other way, cuz i was caught in the crowd.
Now, to the gameplay, Sweet, i had the college hoops game so it was easy to get into it. In the first 30 seconds, i (j will) ripped terry at half court and i actually tried to junk with jay and he took off like he was going to attempt a two hander but just layed it in (as if in real life because we all know he hasnt dunked since playing for UF). The motion is seemless whether you are defending, or the ball carrier. The jostling for the post position was amazing, i was just passing the ball around just to see the motion capture of the post players. As far as visuals, i have an hdtv so it was sweet in 1080i, what jaggies? The players were good but not great at all, ill take that trade in for the level of detail of the crowd, the bench, press row, animations, and the fluidity of the game. You must pay this game to appreciate how it is in motion, no slow down, no framerate drops. beautiful. As yall can see im getting carried away with this but to the game, i only dunked 3 times in the two games, twice with shaq( not too hard if im already onder the rim) and one with Wade when i crossed up terry(killer) and gave Howard a facial. And the dunk wasnt a windmill or a silly 360, just a two hander like you see in a broadcast. Oh and wade had a sick one handed reverse lay up while getting hacked by dirk. it didnt sink though but i just appreciated it even more when i tried to dunk with walker over terry and he just did his usual vanilla layup.
Have any questions ask away, but instead of asking just try the demo. Glad i have this reserved.

I didnt play last years version. But i did have the college hoops 2k6 for the 360(assuming both engines are the same i can go from there). And i must say that there is a major overhaul in this game. Gameplay wise, the players each had their own signature shot, from the jason terry to the dirk to the Twon walker jumper all are different. Animations, too many, from the many animations of the big men trying to get position in the post to the boxing out for the rebounds, you name it they have it. I love how when you walk down the court the guards are calling plays, it doesnt get into the gameplay, for the most part its when you first get the ball, or when you are in the back court and no one is on the ballcarrier tight. Jay dub has his sig. dribbling habit when he hop step while he's dribbling. While shooting the "j" many player will pose til the ball hits the rim or hold their arm up while skipping to the backcourt. Shaq post moves are there. Many problems with ball games is that the center never gets into the game. Shaq will always sit his behind in the post unless you call a play. Dirk has that jumper, actually two types his mid range, when he shoots that sorta fade away, and his long range when it looks like he pushed it.
Ball handling feels different you cant just execute a crossover to shake anyone. D wayde did it a couple of times, and drove to the basket, but for the most part, i was just wasting time trying to shake harris. Also i tried it with posey and he actually lost the ball, very funny, and when was the last time you saw that in a game?
The commentary is spot on. I was so good i really didnt pay any attention to. They have craig sager doin it just like he do it on NBC. im assuming you have already read about the audience, and the bench players are in high rez, and dont look like stand ins. And i mean while they are on the bench. Everything is moving in the game from the fans to press row to the mop boys to the commentators.
The players look like themselves to me, mind you this is the demo so its not like i have the luxury of replay, im playin in 1080i and there are no graphical flaws, i. e. jaggies and such, the framerate was well above 30 to me, could be 60 but im no expert to that. The dunks that i did have were realistic like it should.

I always appreciated 2K over NBA Live..I skipped last year's version because my friends who bought said it was plastic(OG slang for you young bucks)...
I still play 2k5 but get frustrated by the lack of fluidity...how fluid are the crossovers or turbo moves in 2k7? are free throws still based upon the shooters real-life ability?
Based upon your excitement from a demo, 2k7 is gonna be a classic...
When does it come out?
It sucks to not have a 360 and hear about prospective gems like 2k7...

The crossovers are there, but its not the by all means to get to the basket now. Outside of Wade, i couldnt get to the basket without a set play, understandibly so. He is the quickest player on the court and i really had hell shakin harris. Terry's jump shot is sweet. Honestly this is the only game i have been excited about since i bought the 360, after playin the demo. And it came by suprise, i wasnt expecting this at all. It took me back to the nfl 2k5 days, when every cut scene there was something goin on. Everything just seem alive in the game to me.

I downloaded and played it and I didn't think it was all of that. I think the graphics could have been done on the Xbox. With the exception of the fluidity of the movements, I was not that impressed.

So, youre tellin me that all thats goin on in this game with the bench, press row, the active crowd, and the players on the court, with the textures on the players could have been done on the xbox? You must have downloaded the xbox version, i dont see at all that the graphics look anywhere in the xbox neighborhood. Im sorry, if you werent impressed, thats fine, to each his own, but its nowhere comparable to the xbox version.

Yeah, all of that was cool but I was never one to be distracted by the crowd. I did happen to look up once and saw a guy leaving, that gave the game life. The players faces were not that good. The basket particularly the netting looked shot out to me.I don't want to see hair standing still anymore, it should move the shorts move, check out Dirks wig, Jimmy Johnson hair coulnd't be stiffer. Anyway, I am going to check EAs offering before I decide. Oh and EA if you're reading this, I see that you're taking a lot shortcuts on your games lately, keep it up if you want to, remember even the Titanic sank.
