Huge announcement at X06. Two new Halo games are in the works.

Peter Jackson started his own developing company named Wingnut Interactive and he's gonna make a Halo game.
The makers of "Age of Empires," Ensemble Studios are making a Halo RTS called "Halo Wars"

hmm...the rts Halo game doesnt sound like a good 360 title,pc mabye but my pc couldnt play it anyways.
But ive heard nothing on this game so i dont have anything to really base my opinion on exept other rts games that i hated on xbox because of junky controls and whatnot.

If you've ever played games like Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Warcraft, Starcraft, Ages of Empires, thats what a RTS is. But I'm assuming that yes, online will be a big part cause all 360 games are online by default.

Ehhhh, Im skeptical. I dont know if Halo should be taken out of the hands of Bungie. Plus, this might cheapen the Halo name, too much Halo. I dont care if they say theyre gonna be workin with them and not too worry.
Besides, how fun is an RTS gonna be with 2 sides, Human and Covenant?

Personally, I think that trailer was freakin' sweet...all cut scenes, but, sweet. I wonder how the game will actually play. I have never truly played an RTS, admittingly...so, I'm not exactly sure what to think.

Just coming out today, apparently Jackson is officially going to direct the Halo movie as well.
Awesome, the person at the helm of three of the highest grossing films and highest critically acclaimed films of all time to be 100% in control of Halo's movie.

But isnt it supposed to be about the first encounter with the Covenenat or somethin like that? The flood wouldnt fit into that timeline.

eh, i dont want to overhype anything. an RTS would be alot better on the PC, kind of like starcraft on steroids.

They [Bungie] surprised us once with the Flood, maybe they'll do it again. :)
But if it's just the Covenant vs. USNC, it can get dull.. like WarCraft I & II style. Who knows though... WC1 and 2 were the best ones IMO.

The trailer was amazing, I still have goose bumps!!!! I'm not sure if I'd be able to get into that type of game tho.

It definitely looks great. At first, I thought it was the movie because it looks so amazing but I was wrong. It looks cool and I'm wondering if Halo 3 will have any of the things in this trailer, those new human planes or maybe the map.

i love RTS games....but i always suck at them...you really need to be able to multi-task to even stand a chance online. This looks interesting. I just hope there are more than two campaigns.

so i hear that they are going to allow the people playing halo 3 on computer to play online with the people using an xbox 360, anybody wanna say weather its true or false or make and conmenrs??
I think its a bad idea cause that means the people using a computer wih have faster refleces and it world be much easyer to aim for them

Jackson's producing Halo the movie, not directing so he doesn't have complete control, but i think he'll probably have a huge if not majority input due to his beastly status.
It's all being done in Wellington, NZ (CHEERS PETE MATE, check out my location) as well as wingnut game development will be based in wellington as well. 1000 techies are moving here soon, just down the road from my ass actually, its a pity i do web development not games otherwise i'd definitly be there.
I'll sift down to the set when they start filming and take some pix to post on here if you guys want (+ if they allow). My brother works for weta digital who do the animation effects, so i'll have access to sift around.

:confused: Halo 3 is a 360 only game for at least a few years after launch so i wouldn't worry to much about playing against PC guys:D
