Hi,
I have been dealing with an ongoing problem connecting to my buddies on LIVE.
They cant connect with each other either.
The error we keep getting is:
"You aren't able to join this party because we're having network problems. Sorry about that."
However, we can all easily connect on our own to the matchmaker games against random people with no problems.
We solved the issue once by opening ports 88 and 3074 both in TCP and UDP on my router. But now even that doesn't help anymore.
I have cable internet through Comcast.
My router is a Netgear WGR614 v5 with Firmware version 1.09.
I live in Seattle, Washington.
I am using a regular XBOX.
My friend has a Linksys WRT54G ver 3.0 (not sure what firmware but says he updated two weeks ago)
He lives in Dallas, Texas.
He is using an XBOX360.
My brother has a Linksys DL624 with most recent firmware.
He lives in Sacramento, California.
Also has a regular XBOX.
Some other details:
- to use XBOX LIVE I usually unplug the internet cable from my computer and then straight into the XBOX, would that maybe confuse the router or LIVE service at all?
- i was away for a month on vacation overseas, and now this problem is back, could the ports have closed from non-use somehow?
- the ports still show as being forwarded/triggered in the router setup wizard
Can anybody point me to a solution here?
