WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW Swat ranked... now not just nooby modders and standbyers can get high ranks but real pieces of sh*t can through swat. Thought host mattered before? Wow. Instead of bungie doing somethin good like adding 3v3, hardcore slayer, hardcore objective, or giving an option to boot a deranker after a certain number of suicides in a specific amount of time, they do this... Rank meant nothing before but now it's just a joke. At least before with the odd person here and there you could tell if they were half decent... now it tells nothing. Good job Bungie... continue to make these awesome decisions.

Swat is by far the stupidest gametype of them all, and they make it ranked. Wow what a stupid mistake, swat takes little skill, just a quick shot and that's it. Now all the noobs will be playing it and bragging because their highest rank is a 20 in swat when the highest they can get in anything else is like 10.

lol swat is fun though, it brings me back to the old days of popping people in the head at games like Zombies, customs with al your friends :) just alot LESS swearing and trash talk.. which is kinda wierd

Noooo no no there is gonna be so much trash talk in it and in all gametypes now because all the nubs will think they're somethin special. I was messin around in swat not long ago with a buddy and a kid who was a legit 10 with 300+ games was talkin sh*t to the other team because he had 15+ kills... and he was a legit 10 with no deranking!! How is that even possible!? The only time I enjoyed swat style games was um... in a swat style game... RS3... one life only.

just more evidence showing how much of a noob Bungie is. its things like these that makes me lose all hope that Halo 3 MP will be even half as fun as Halo1 MP.

bungie seriously does not know what it's doing anymore. they should seriously consult the Pro Players of the world so they can have a huge input in what goes on in all Halo MP.

You know as well as I do that Halo 1 was practically an accident. Obviously all things weren't like the physical movement, the lower jumping ability, fall damage, weapon respawn timers, grenade effects, grenade throws, grenades able to flip vehicles, Warthog drive-ability, no vehicle damage, no homing rockets, etc...

However, what Bungie accidentally did was create an option where you can have the Pistol and Assault Rifle with 2-4 grenades on start and respawn instead of having default weapons. For instance, Blood Gulch has the plasma pistol as the starting weapon! Prisoner, the same. Hang Em High uses the plasma rifle as the starting weapon on default settings. All of this is ridiculous thinking and it was the same Bungie all along... I concur that Halo 1 was an accidental phenominon. Bungie REALLY needs to get off of their high horses and get some common sense and realize that players made Halo 1 the phenominon it was.

Was the Pistol the only weapon to use in Halo 1? Of course not...I often picked up a Sniper Rifle, the Shotgun, and the Rocket Launcher. Occasionally, I would pick up the Plasma Rifle in the map: Chill Out...but, other than that, all of the other weapons sucked...unless you wanted to humiliate your friend with a kill with the Needler :yikes:

If you die from a needler you need to chop your nuts off and smash them with a mallot while humming the tune to the Nutcracker.

I agree that they may have messed up but who's to say they didn't consult some pro players or some folks who play the game all of the time.

First of all, I crossed my legs after I read your first sentence :D

As for the second sentence, I thought of that possibility, too; however, Bungie made Halo 2 and it confirms it to me that Bungie intended on initially having the SMG as the starting weapon on Coagulation (remember that?!?!?)

swat was always fun, with friends.

I think the highest rank I ever got on H2, was 36 in Skirmish. I actually got int he top 500 amongst all the cheaters and the like,

I guess your right...I think I was in some state of denial. Could Bungie really have just been lucky as hell? After reading your post, I would have to say...yes. You are absolutely right. Now there's nothing left to say except, Bungie is not a reputable development company anymore...as far as multiplayer goes. They can make great worlds great stories and everything else, but once they start working with MP, it all goes downhill... RIP, Bungie.

Consult the pro players? Why would a developer consult the 15% portion of their market? They appeal to the masses.

As for all this bickering.. all I know is.. more people played Halo 2, more people play Halo 2 multiplayer, all my friends prefer Halo 2, it has more maps, it looks better, it sounds better, there is more to do.. the only thing that isn't better is the single player storyline. The fun factor of Halo 2 multiplayer far exceeded that of Halo 1, and if you consult all the gamers, the majority would agree with me (simply because of sheer numbers that will vote for it because of Xbox Live, but either way, I'll tak the win).

I hear what you're saying, Whisper and I agree with you. But Bungie basically betrayed all of it's hardcore fans of Halo1. The fans that had skill, the fans that would play in 5v5 LAN games every weekend, the fans that would never drop the pistol for a power weapon. The disaster that is Halo2 MP, was a slap in the face of all the fans that made Bungie prosper.

Honestly I'm glad they took out the overly powered pistol and replaced it with the battle rifle, which is a MUCH more balanced weapon. It seems that most of the pros that played Halo 1 are usually really good with the battle rifle.

that would of been all fine and good but then Bungie screwed up the physics and made Sniping easier, rocket launcher quick fire and lock on, sword, and PP home players like a mother.

Really, if you guys are complaining this much.
Go find another game to play.
Halo:CE is fun, and so is Halo 2.
Im a bungie fan have been since I first laid my hands on CE. Yeah, the pistol was pretty much the best weapon in the game, and now the BR is good.
Really, who cares about matchmaking, rank, or any of it. Its a game, go play with your freinds and have fun.
I personally, am looking forward to Halo 3, just so I can have more countless hours of fun with friends.

So, if anyone ever wants to play some good old Halo 2..send me a FR: Bob Can Skate

Yes, I agree sniping is much easier but if you haven't noticed the rockets in Halo 2 move much slower than in Halo: CE but they also shoot faster so it's kind of a trade-off, I also agree the PP and the sword are stupid, dumbest mistake for multiplayer they've made.
