*If Cortana was played by a real actress...*

Suppose that for the Halo film, Cortana was to be played by a real actress and then altered using the magic of computer technology to look holographic like she does in the game (purple with the data streams running up and down her). Basically, the shape of the face and body would be of the real actress and the only changes made would be to make her look like a holographic AI construct. Who do you think would best fit the part? Consider both:

Appearance (resemblance to Cortana): Scale from 0 to 10 (0= horrible, 10= perfect)
Acting (ability to play the role of Cortana): Scale from 0 to 10. (0= horrible, 10= perfect)

1) Jolene Blalock (known mostly for her role as the vulcan “T’Pol” on Star Trek Enterprise)

If they did do Cortana in all CGI, then they would most likely use Jen Taylor's voice. But I'm not sure they will use CGI for Cortana. The film is going to be live action with some CG sequences as Neil Blomkamp (director of the film) let slip when he said:

""Well, the film has to have a feeling of reality, and so that means that I want to keep him real as much as I can, there is a necessity for him to become cg in sequences where a guy in a suit would just not work, but for the most part I am aiming for real."

As a member over at Bungie.net forums put it: "I don't believe that CGI can or will ever be able to capture the subtle nuances of micro-expressions, gestures, etc. used by real life actors. There's just something plastic about CGI." I totally agree with him and I hope Blomkamp sees it that way too.

Anyway, I made a little comparison image of Lexa Doig and Cortana and uploaded it to putfile. You can find it here (http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3664612). I think Lexa Doig would be perfect. She's a good actor. She comes across as strong and intelligent. She's also beyond gorgeous!

they might not show her at all is what i meant. she might be just a voice cuz thats all she really is for most of the game.

we see her in the cinematic's and thats about it.

I don't think Cortana should be in the movie, she sucks. The Master Chief needs a new sidekick. Some funny black dude who saves the day, but still dies in the end. How about one of the Wayans brothers? Marlon! Yea.. He's whacky!
