gamespot thread on overheating solutions (http://www.gamespot.com/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=23998153&page=0)
One guy told me not to get a 360 because it overheats too easily. I did some searching and found this gamespot post on the matter. Thought it'd be helpful to post here

You do that. Anyone else who wants to be able to play for over half an hour without turning it off, try some of the things mentioned in that post :)

I haven't had such problems yet. I have a glass audio pier next to my TV and my 360 is out in the open on the upper tier. I have an intercooler plugged into the back, and for added paranoid protection, my 360 sits perfectly on a 15in laptop USB fan cooler, using the rear USB port to run the coolerpad.
The power brick sits out in the open on the bottom tier and I spray the dust off it with compressed air weekly. I've had it since June and it's never locked up.
