Hi to all, i'm new to this forum and joined in the hope that somebody would be able to save my and my friends 360s from the kicking they're about to get.

Here's some background...

I bought the core system, but i have a hard drive for it as well whilst my friend has the premium.

We've both used the software updates to be able to play backwards compatible games (not really relevant here but i'm giving you all the details).

We're connecting with a 3rd party ethernet RJ45 cable that was advertised as a system link for XBox 360s.

We have tried to link them for numerous games, including: Splinter Cell: Double Agent; Ghost Recon; PGR3, Saint's Row and Ridge Racer.

So far only Ghost Recon and Saint's Row have worked, and even that was after a lot of fiddling about unplugging and replugging leads, the rest of the games just refuse to acknowledge that a game has been created on the other machine and won't let them connect.

So, my question is does anybody have any ideas about what we could do to get them to work? Ghost Recon is awesome in link up (Saint's Row was a bit of a letdown) and we're eager to do it with more titles, as i can't see us getting much replay value out of them if we can't link. Neither of us are new to video games and i really don't see how it could be a problem with something we're not doing in game, but i'm open to suggestions.

A big thanks to all in advance, along with undying gratitude should you help us solve this.
