I see a ton of customers coming into work picking this game up, and I've been looking at it. Is it any good, and worth to get?

rent it if you can, its fun until you get all the achievements then it feels like a waste of time

I find myself playing this game the most out of all of my games right now, I think its worth a rent, at the least

The game has hours and hours of gameplay, but it really depends on what you want to put into it. You can play this game easily for 100+ hours and still not have completed everything in the game. You'll get all the achievements by the 50 hour mark or so, but you'll still be a long way from 100% completion.

Also with the fact that there are leaderboards for every pinata in the game, plus an overall garden value leaderboard adds to the fun.

What kind of game is this anyway? I get the impression it's an animal crossing type game... Am I correct in saying that?

Wish I could tell you, but I've never played Animal Crossing.

In answer to the original question: 'Is it worth it?'

I can only say: 'I hope so.'

Since I just traded for it. ;)

Ain't put it in yet, I'm kinda perverse, I often get a new game and leave it untouched until the new game feel has moved, so I'm not too hyped and expecting too much. (Vegas sat in it's bag a week 'til I finally put it in.)

Hey Laughs...
Its not really like Animal Crossing. Its sort of like the old Harvest moon games.
You get an animal, and then you have to get them to mate.
Lots of weird animal sex really... the buzzlegums are a little kinky...
ANYWAYS...its a very good game, I think its one of the best on the system. You sink hours into it with out realizing it. I played it for 5 hours straight the day I got it.

My wife is addicted. I am having trouble using my new 360 because she is busy romancing pinatas.

Interesting... I think I'll download the demo and check it out. Thanks for the answer, predatorprime

i dont have xbox live so maybe i don't understand their significance, but am i the only one who is not excited at all by achievements? every time that ticker pops up i ignore it, and i don't even check and see what the hell it was... so yeah, if the game is useless besides checkpoints (which i doubt), i think i'll pass.

they just seem like one of those things... "Look, I spend more times playing video games than you."

Wow! Doesn't look like my type of game... Wouldn't waste my time and money on this one.

Right, I've given it a guid shot now and feel better able to respond:

First off, you lose track of time playing this game, days and nights fly by in the game, just as they do in reality when you put this disc in. Basically you are the god of your own little plot of land, you terraform it as you please in an effort to encourage Pinata of a certain type onto your plot. This bit is totally up to you, how you want it done.

Once you've got a couple of any breed, you try to fullfull their mating requirements (For example, a Mousemallow want to eat a Daisy seed and you need a Mousemallow house) for them to be encouraged to get it on. Anytime a new breed mates, you are treated to a short fmv of a child-friendly mating dance. In some cases this can be fun, others it can be downright frustrating.

As your garden flourishes you are awarded more space to play with, bigger pinata like the look of it and will wander through. Unfortunately the evil b@stards also take more of an interest, venturing through dropping poison or starting fights, in one case actually beating the hell out of any wounded Pinata lying around.

And there will be wounded and ill Pinata, especially if like me, you cannot create a harmonious enviroment. I clearly lack Feng Shui knowledge and have created what I can only describe as an open battle ground. At one point I had around 15 consecutive brawl attempts and had to lay them all out with my spade. (Hedgehogs fighting moths, moths then starting it with worms, worms taking on squirrels, snakes taking on worms, squirrels taking on frogs!!!!) It was Battle Royale Pinata!

Add to this your ability to name & customise your Pinata, plant and grown fruit and veg, assault intruders with your spade & accept supply challenges from Pinata Central... all in all it adds up to a pretty engrossing and fun experience.

As Jackyboy stated earlier there are achievements up the wazzoo, but similar to Xbocks I couldn't give a stuff, it really is of no interest to me what the developers think in worth 10 or 100points, I no longer pay any attention... that does not mean this game has only that to offer. The game itself is fun, challenging and hella addictive.

*Mini-review over*

I will probably snag this game so that I have something to play that my 2year old can watch and I may not have to hear her ask me to put CareBears on. It is kind of hard to play GOW before 8pm in my house. LOL

Is it worth it? I guess so... We rented it about two weeks ago and my girlfriend seems to enjoy it.
